If he is 10 then why is he worried about "burning points" if he will only have 1 or 2 (hunter ed and or loyalty)????????? And has he ever shot an elk?

Yesterday I competed in the SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) State Skeet Commissioners Cup (championships) and I shot a 90/100, which is ok for me, but good for the conditions yesterday. The others on my squad shot a 92/100 and a 81/100. There is both squad championships and individual, but f you shoot in a squad, then your score when you shot with the squad is your individual score. Our squad scored 263/300, and I figured we needed a 270 to win. We shot at 9am so we had to wait until 6pm to get all of the results. we filled to time and played a lot of cards, frisbee, and football. While we were playing Frisbee, my coach (in pictures) called me over and said, "Don't do anything stupid, you've got a shootoff" (you are tied with another person(s) and you need to shoot more targets to determine your place, they only do thins for 1st,2nd,3rd) so then I stopped playing and started o get into "the zone". When all the shooters final finished at 6:30 pm we started the shootoffs and I was first, so I went up there with my competitor and I looked at a pair ( they make you shoot from stations that you don't shoot doubles on so that it is harder) then I broke both birds. the format is sudden death. so if he misses a bird, I win. that's exactly what he did, he broke the first bird then missed the 2nd. I won 2nd individually! we then went on to the awards ceremony and they presented my with my little 2nd place trophy and the they present my squad with the State Championship! This is my 5th-Consecutive Arizona State Skeet Championship! So to say the least, God has blessed me.... yesterday was a very bright day and there was plenty of burned flesh, including myself, If your kids or you competed yesterday, please tell, I would love to hear!!! Thanks for reading... last 3 pics, 1st-Me in shootoff, 2nd- me on station 7 during a round, 3rd- me on station 2

As a youth myself, I would like to say that cow hunting is a lot of fun, but I don't have anything to compare it to. I have called in bulls but haven't been on a bull hunt. I will probably start putting in for bull in a few years as long as I get a few more cows (I only have got 1 currently). The basic fact is that it is harder to draw a quality bull tag than a Jr cow tag, so it maybe that my dad and I would just rather be out there hunting elk more often and the way we can do that is that I have a cow tag.

**UPDATED** SCTP State Skeet Commisioners Cup
PatrickJr replied to PatrickJr's topic in The Campfire
Updated with a couple more photos on the original post. hope you like them fyi- I shot an 86(in sporting clays) today at our course down here, which is a very tough course and so hopefully I will be ready for the "softer" course up at Ben Avery on the 19th -
He can, but if he is smart he will now that he physically isn't fully developed and he can improve his game as well. EDIT: Dang it Beardown!!! you got me again....

Josh Gasser instigated it, he was pushing on Nick Johnson then Nick gave a little back....and that final call with 2 seconds left was very close. My dad went to the University of Wisconsin, so I grew up a Badger fan as well as a Wildcat fan. I was rooting for the cats and was tough to see them fall to my 2nd favorite team. What I don't like is that my dad went to Wisconsin for 3.5 years and still prefers them over Arizona, who he has worked for over 28 years! But whatever, Now I wanna see the badgers Play the Spartans in the title game. EDIT: Just saw that Beardown wrote just about the same thing

WHAT A GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at Taste of Texas and what an awesome atmosphere (even with the drunk people) It was amazing, being surrounded by all the best people in AZ (of course, they were UofA fans....). Like I said in an earlier post, I predicted that Wisc. and AZ would meet up, and guess what we've got. Will be a good game for sure!

PatrickJr replied to PatrickJr's topic in The Campfire
Sorry, but I don't shoot trap, but the SCTP State Sporting Clays Shoot on April 19 at Ben Avery is next for me, then maybe Sparta for skeet/sporting clays if we have the money to make the trip..... -
Well, gentlemen, I am formally apologizing for the theory I posted yesterday about the Money order apps that wont be drawn. My "source" of a friend decided to mess with this 15 year old kid! it was all a big "pic on Patrick scam" and I posted what they told me and I did get ripped from some of you but as of now it was deserved! Sorry for all the misunderstandings......

KUIU ULTRA 6000 vs OUTDOORSMANS OPTIC PACK
PatrickJr replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Other Hunting Gear
In my mind the Outdoorsmans is the way to go, the pockets are great, it carries weight extremely well, and you truly cant mess it up. you may not notice it now but if you put it on and grab your hunting rifle with a swing on it, then put the sling to the inside of the little knob. this feature alone is enough to sell me on the pack. the sling will no longer slip off your shoulder, it just sits there on its own! I have even had to walk through lots of ocotillos and they just shed off, the codura nylon on the multicam pack is bombproof......just go with the outdoorsmans and don't look back, you wont be disappointed! -
I started hunting and fishing at that age and my idea of it then and now are drastically different. here's another way to think of it, before you put your child in the MLB you must first sit in the ground, 3 feet away from them and gently roll the ball into their glove. then just go from there. take her up to Alaska in mid July for halibut and salmon when she is 10 and she will be hooked (pun not intended)

I dropped her off with Tbasix Taxidermy yesterday for a tanning, and was really happy with how nice and honest Dan and Gail Tout were. I will be giving them a lion or any sort of animal I want to rug in the future for sure!

Well, as some of you know I started a thread the night before I went calling last time and I really jinxed myself, so this time I decided to hold off. My friend, Tyler, is a master caller (at least I think he is) and we went out today and didn't have anything come in for the first 2 stands. we got to the 3rd and it was a canyon that we have called before, and we decided to make a loop and peak over the ridge and set up instead of walking through the bottoms. we got set up, with the caller about 15 yards out and the spinny thing about 20 yards out, and started the calling sequence. I had my Beneli M1 (12 gauge) and Tyler had my Mossberg MVP 223 so I was pointing out my effective range, and he agreed. about 1 minute into the setup I thought I heard a rock tumble to my right, but when a bird has those first couple flaps of its wings, it can sound like a rock, so I didn't think much if it. there is a little rock outcropping it front of me about 10 yards, and some grass behind it and then the tree that the spinny thing is in. well I see the top of a gray fox's back dart across from right to left and I didn't get a shot off. I thought he was gone but instinctively I said to Tyler, "FOX!!!" and I think the fox heard me and he stopped in the most perfect gap at 20 yards, by then I already had the gun up and so I quickly brought the gun to his head and slapped the trigger and at 20 yards with a full choke you would think he would be done, but no.......he hoped off the "cliff", out of sight. so I wanted to go and make sure he wasn't getting away. Tyler said "No. We aren't done yet...." so I tried to sit patiently, and we weren't being very still or quiet when I see Tyler put his gun up and then I saw the fox, so I put my gun up too. the fox was at about 50 yards and he was looking towards us but at the spinny thing. when I drew I hit Tyler's arm and knocked him off, but then he told me to not move, so I didn't. I had the gun on the fox and I thought it was the one I just shot so I asked if he wanted me to take him, and he said no then "BOOM!!!" I could tell it was a perfect lung shot and saw the fox drop in to the manzanita brush. we waited a few more minutes then headed our way down the hill, we found 1 fox about 15 yards from where I shot one, and then there was blood everywhere where Tyler shot at his and we then found Tyler's. we had pulled off a Gray Fox double, one fox with a shotgun and one with a rifle. the best part is that my fox didn't have that many holes in her, the fur is perfect. we celebrated and went on to do a few more stands but to no avail. but that didn't matter, I was grinning from ear to ear, the rest of the day, and would find myself laughing on stands as I would recall the recent events and how cool it was. I can now say that I am truly hooked on varmint calling! thanks for reading, my fox is the one on the bottom in the first 2 pics and the one on the right in the 3rd pic.

from now on I will just not post "tidbits" I heard from friends, I was just trying to info to maybe give a heads up, but no more with that I will take any critisizam given , as long as I am proven incorrect, I will speak with my source again tomorrow and maybe get a better understanding.....

ok well, I really am done defending what I was relaying from a close friend, and I am not directing blame, I will take it if I am wrong, my dad has 15 bonus pts and we will see how many people with m.o.s get drawn, forget I said anything, but don't be calling my friends "idiots" because they heard something, and told me, which I told you, I wouldn't come out and call any of you idiots for saying something on this site unless it was vulgar and inappropriate! good luck to all of you in the draws and I will tell you now, I don't expect my father nor I to draw!

I am saying that for some reason that azgfd is running thru the cc apps before the m.o. apps
