I am currently shooting a 165 Gr Sierra Game king in a 300 RUM, accuracy for this combination is phenomenal. However, I am running around 3200 fps rather than super high velocity. Hope to get in on some hide in early November.

I was 11 and killed a 1x2 mulie hunting with dad. Have had the opportunity be see several first big game kills with family and friends, all have been nothing short of spectacular. Have hunts with 3 first timers this fall, one is my 13 year old daughter. I have a feeling that she will be my best hunt memory to date, looking quite forward to it.

I appreciate the response guys, I did see on a Hornady website that the 154 SST Superformance was temporarily suspended from production. This being said I will follow up and return the remaining to them. Oddly enough it shot well under 3/4 MOA, hopefully nobody purchases and doesn't before taking it in the field and sticks a case.

I purchased a 20 count box of Hornady Superformance 7mm mag with the 154 SST bullet. I simply purchased the factory ammo to have another 20 once fired Hornady brass to begin load development. This being said, I fired a total of 3 rounds through a brand new Remington 700 7 mag with a 26" tube to begin a barrel break in. Barrel and chamber were cleaned spotless prior to the first shot and each subsequent shot. Each round would not eject properly, and had a bright mark near the belt on the case body. Primers were extremely flat. Upon getting back to the reloading bench, I pulled 2 bullets and weighed the powder charges. Each case contained 74.6 grains which seems a bit stout for a standard 7 Mag. I have no experience with Superformance powder, anybody have any data?? Wondering if this was an oops on the factory ammo charges, but will not be able to rule out a tight chamber until I start new load development. Has anybody had the same issue??

Would you be willing to part with say 100 or 150 rounds only??

I am a strong fan of the .284, whether you are talking standard 7mm Remington mag or 7 STW. 160 and 168 Grain Nosler bullets have a relatively high BC and have proven quite consistent over my last 30 years of chasing toughest deer on earth( strictly opinion). We all strive for perfect shot setups, but push to come to shove I prefer to have the extra velocity and energy generated by a magnum case. It has been my experience that if I knock him out of his feet, he usually stays anchored. But have also seen spectacular heart- lung shots that allowed a dead deer walking cover substantial ground before giving up the ghost. This being said, what you experience in the field forms your opinions, who is to say that mine won't change in the future. If it works for you, stick with it.

88 Grains IMR 7828 WLMR primer with Remington Brass behind 165 Nosler combined technology. running at 3260fps nice 4 shot clover cluster @200yds

We have killed everything from Javelina to Bison with a 7mm mag, great caliber she will give you whatever you need in the lower 48. 160 ish grain bullets near 300 fps are the ticket in my opinion. This caliber is flat shooting and extremely accurate, you got a great deal for under $300.

62.5 Gr. reloader 22 WW Brass WLMR primer behind 168 LRAB = .212" group at 100 yards. 62-63 seems to be the node in this particular rifle, have not shot any game with the LRAB yet, but would not have any reservations at all.
