  1. Anti Group Gets Fined “The Center for Biological Diversity must pay Arizona rancher Jim Chilton $600,000 for defamation related to postings the environmental group put up on its Web site recently alleging that Chilton allowed animals on his property to overgraze, the Arizona Court of Appeals ruled this week. CBD originally sued in Arizona 's Pima County Superior Court to prevent the 10-year renewal of Chilton's grazing permit and the group posted links to its filing and photographs alleging Chilton allowed animals to overgraze on his 21,500-acre Arivaca-area allotment, which was issued to him by the Forest Service. But Chilton argued that the postings were false and defamed him and his business. A jury found in his favor and awarded him $600,000.” (Source: AP/Arizona Daily Star)

    LONG RANGE SHOTS

I shot a buck on Monday at 450 yards, I used a range finder to get the distance. 2 years ago I shot a buck @ 760 yards. One shot kill All you need is a GREAT spotter someone that can see where your bullets are hitting. Then you need a good range finder and the most important thing you need is a VERY good drop chart
  10. Guys, I am so wound up. I am getting ready to leave for unit B, San Carlos bear hunt. I cant wait to go. I went out 2 weeks ago and we found some bears. Apache7mm helped us scout...did I forget to mention that that boy can walk. He took us to the place where Jesus lost his sandals. That country is sure pretty and is loaded with bears. Well please wish me luck, I am looking forward to it. When I get back next Thursday I have to turn around and go deer hunting in 36A, what a vacation, what a life:) Good luck to any of you guys that are going hunting for anything else.

Help a Coues Newbie in 36B

Buy your self a good pair of binos get up on a good hill that will enable you to see 360 degrees and glass, glass and then glass some more. That unit is a great! In fact Ray Charles could kill a Coues deer in it.

    Quail and Tires

Yeah...they do give great service. Me and peck1 did have a great time though. We have been scouting our unit about every weekend. heck, The problem that I see with the quail (besides my crapy shooting) is that guys go down there and shoot every bird in the covey. I only like to shoot a few birds out of each covey. Oh yeah, those liberal bird watchers didnt even slow down. I am sure that this isnt news to you guys...when you see someone having trouble in the desert...ask if you can help. The sad this is if I were to see those liberals again and they needed help, I would still help them. Lee forgot to mention that a tiger rattle snake came real close to making Lee his buddy. all in all we had a good time.

    2B late Muley hunt

huge deer!!! The migration has started. CO had a 4' of snow in the San Jauns which has started pushing deer through the San Jaun Basin. It will be a great year

    Prop 106

I will say it, I think it is a really stupid move and that it is one more way that the left wingers can screw us...again. They are manipulating liberals.

    Utah elk?

I would look into NM!!! There are some big bulls there as well. I wouldn't put in for elk in UT...you will be walking with a walker before you get drawn!!! I would apply for mule deer (carp) in UT. There are some really good areas in NM as well as NV. You can get a good archery tag in CO with a few pref points. Send me a PM and I will give you a few units to apply in.

    :) A BIG BUCK!!!

It also happens here in AZ as well. Twice a year we fly our ranch to do deer surveys. The Texas Parks and Wildlife do not manage our ranches so it is up to the landowner to fly and count the herds to find out the buck to doe ratio and to figure the fawn survival rate. In order to properly manage our deer we must know what we have before we start hunting. This happens in most states, but it is usually the game and fish that do it. Just because they fly the ranches doesnt mean that we will find the deer. The object is not to find big bucks...it is to count deer... bucks:doe:fawns
  25. This was taken out of the chopper. What do you think it scores?
