    Horses in Unit 36B

We drew tags in for the October whitetail hunt in 36B. For the last few years we have been hunting in Unit 32 and taking our horses along. My question is how beneficial would horses be on this hunt? I know there are some areas where horses are almost more of a burden than a help. Also wondering if there are any good places to camp with horses, maybe some old corrals with water nearby etc..? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    nov 36b hunt results

Nice bucks.. I am also wondering how you skulled those out so fast and clean. I tried it the other day and pretty much gave up, it is harder than I thought it would be.

    Hunting channels

I switched from cox to dish network for that reason. Dish has mens channel and the outdoor channel. There are tons of good shows on there. Hunting with the pros probably has the most coues hunting and western style hunting.

    Unit 32

Here is a picture of the little buck I got this year on monday morning just hours before we had to come home. Spotted him at first light and watched him bed down about 400 yards away. I stalked him and shot him at about 130 yards while he was still bedded. It was my first spot and stalk buck and my first one shot in his bed!! It was awesome, Im already looking forward to next year!
  10. On an early (Sept) bow hunt is it possible to lure bucks closer with the grunt or with the bleat calls? Im assuming rattling primarily works during the rut but wasnt sure about the other calls. Im planning on trying my hand at bow hunting coues for the first time and just want to get all the information possible before I get out into the woods. Thanks guys (and girls) . Look forward to your comments. Waterbuck

    Hunting Blinds

Ive got a few questions about blind hunting and blinds in general. First off, can anyone recommend a decent ground blind that will fit two people for bow hunting? I saw one at Sportsmans that was about $120 I think it was Ameristep of something like that? Anybody have that blind? I want to stay in that price range. Next question is do you guys set up your blinds days in advance so the deer can get comfortable with it? Do you run the risk of somebody stealing the blind or messing with it? I know most decent hunters would not mess with it at all, I just dont want to get a new blind, set it up, come back a week later and have it gone, that would suck!! let me know please any comments would be appreciated.

    Vortex Binos??

Im in the market for a new pair of binos 10x42 But I dont want to spend the money for high end stuff right now. I looked at the Nikon Monarchs at cabelas and they looked pretty nice, does anybody have any other suggestions in that price range. I have read a few things about the Vortex binos, anybody know anything about them? I read the previous post about binos and there was a lot of good info, but just wanted to double check before I make the purchase, I dont want to regret it!! Thanks in advance for the suggestions. Archery Headquarters in Chandler would definitely be my choice. Lots of selection, reasonable prices, and all the guys down there are extremely helpful and knowledgable. They also have the video machine which is a blast!!
