Draw with res and nonres in together.
Titanium700 replied to Titanium700's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
There is a few nice bucks we know of. Actually 3 that go over 100" last year and they survived. My fil really badly wanted to hunt with my son so that's the reason he did that. I know...I warned him. Lol He insisted though. I did not put in with them as I have double digit bp's and have been trying to draw a strip tag. If I don't draw my strip tag (which I probably won't) I am going to try to get a leftover tag in their unit. -
What happens when a resident puts in with a nonresident on their deer apps? My fil (res) has 6 bp's, my son (nonres) 0 points. My fil put in with him being the party leader and my son added to his app and I was wondering will they both be treated as nonresidents because of my son or somewhere in between? They are trying for the 1097 whitetail hunt. Wonder what their chances are????

I really hate the idea of hunting educated creatures, so I never call in the off season.

I think this is a superb option, for a first timer a $200 rifle that if he drops/scratches wont make your heart bleed. not to mention the cartridge, remington makes light recoiling ammo that shouldnt break his shoulder and I have found that those savages are quite acccurate. I bought my son a brand new remington 700 youth left hand .243 rifle last year for his coues hunt and topped it with a leupold 3.5x10 with the cds and let me tell you, he knocked that gun over more times than I care to admit putting scratches on the rifle and scope...almost made me sick but now when I look at those scratches it makes my mind wander back to a few certain rockpiles there out in the desert. Lol anyway for $200 you can't go wrong and im not even a savage fan.

I use and swear by leupold dual dovetails and get the lowest rings that will work.
-
My guns wear nothing but leupolds so you cant go wrong there, had an idea..you could spray paint that scope flat black too if you want.

Wow, that is a most unusual beautiful looking deer, once in a lifetime deer there. I would kill for a deer like that.......haha, get it? kill?....I know terrible joke. Sorry

The silver is anodized on I believe, and it is a matte silver. it cant be any worse than a stainless gun so id say your fine, but like you im not too hip on the silver scopes, I like matte black.

I dont quite think he makes the 110" mark either but, I think hes around the 105" arena, with that said I believe he will be over the 110" mark this fall. great buck.

What bullet weight

The problem with powerbelts is people try to push them too fast with poor results, they fail miserbly. I use the 250 grain Barnes MZ's in front of 150 grains of pyro and a cci #209 primer, I get velocities around 2075 fps and use this combo in conjunction with a leupold vx3 3.5x10 scope with the cds system. extremely lethal and tested out to 300 yds. -
Saturday morning was a beautiful morning, birds gobbling everywhere and we were on our 2nd sit when it all came together for my son at 8:35, The 1st sitting had 3 gobblers all triangulating to our hideout when a car drove by in the dirt road scaring them. The second sit had us further back when I was able to reel in another 3 gobblers and I sweet talked them into 40yds when my son finally pulled the trigger. I wish I had it on video my son is 11yrs old and weighs around 95lbs and when he pulled the trigger all I saw was a bird hitting the deck and my sons feet flying over his head = I didn't think the 2 3/4" turkey load would be as harsh as my 3 1/2" shells for him but my my my. Lol Here he is with his first gobbler. 9 3/4" beard 1 1/8" spurs 21.5 lbs

Titanium700 replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Elk Hunting
I didn't even draw a tag and I still think its mean.......your tag should be withdrawn as a penalty. I just happen to know someone who needs one... -
I bought a bonus point.
