I live on the north end of Glendale. -
The last elk tag I had in Arizona we didnt see a single hunter off the road, and there were over 300 tags.

Is your 21 a slim frame?

The oil was changed every 3,000 at the most and I used synthetic oil to boot. I was impressed it made it that far since I am hard on my trucks, it never had any transmission/transfer case or rear-end problems since I also changed the fluid on time. They are good trucks!

BLM is considering four shooting facilities surrounding Maricopa county and is looking for public input during meetings that are scheduled for June 11 th/ June 13th. They are also taking input during June 3rd / July 2 nd, online. This would be a good time to push for at least one or two facilities where we can shoot long range. https://www.nraila.org/articles/20190606/arizona-blm-proposes-building-four-new-recreational-shooting-sites-near-phoenix https://eplanning.blm.gov/epl-front-office/eplanning/planAndProjectSite.do?methodName=renderDefaultPlanOrProjectSite&projectId=122638&dctmId=0b0003e8813f241d https://eplanning.blm.gov/epl-front-office/eplanning/planAndProjectSite.do?methodName=dispatchToPatternPage¤tPageId=185712 https://eplanning.blm.gov/epl-front-office/eplanning/planAndProjectSite.do?methodName=dispatchToPatternPage¤tPageId=185716

As of last year there were just over 24,000 new hunting licences sold in Arizona. With all the new residents point creep is only going to get worse.

The 6.5 Grendel is a good round for the ar 15 .

The only places I can think to put a shooting facility in the east valley would be east of gold canyon, around florence or to the north of saguaro lake. I do believe the location near casa grande is already being used and they are expanding the site.

I am going to give this a bump since we have meetings starting tomorrow.

AZ Coues hunters headed to Colorados GMU 74

The weather can change very fast up there. I was scouting my unit at about 8,000/10,000 feet as the sun rose there was hardly a cloud in the sky and it stayed that way until about 12 pm. I was 8 miles from the trail head, earlier that day I cut the trail and bumped into a couple wearing shorts, tees and hiking shoes, the only thing they were carrying were water bottles. By 2 pm it started to snow hard the visibility was to low to glass any more so I figured I would call it a day and head back to the truck/camp as I dropped off the ridge down to the trail head where I bumped into that couple again and they were freezing, we spoke briefly and I followed close behind them just to make sure they made it back to their car. I thought I was going to have to give them my bivy sack a few times. I never leave the truck/camp without enough gear to at least spend a comfy night out in any kind of weather. Good luck on your hunt! -
Did you get your mule sold? Great deal for someone in need of a pack animal.

We have 1.4 million acres of land opening up across the US to hunt and fish. I believe Arizona has 6 wildlife refuges that will be open to hunt/fish. https://www.nratv.com/videos/cam-and-company-2019-david-bernhardt-new-public-lands-open-for-hunters-fishers

I would do a lot of scouting since this is your first trip. I dont hunt near there but parts of the state are not easy to hunt and those OTC elk tags can be hard to fill if you dont know your area. From desk work to boots on the ground there is no such thing as to much scouting time. Good luck! -
There is a bill HR 2532 being introduced by congressman Raul Grijalva district 3 of Arizona who gets an F- from gun owners of america. If I lived in district three I think I would bury my head in the sand, districts 1, 7 and 9 all get an F. Districts 4 ,5, 6 and 8 did good getting out and voting with an A across the board. You can watch the video (short clip) starting 10:00 on NRATV. https://www.nratv.com/episodes/relentless-season-2-episode-86 https://gunowners.org/congressional-ratings/

Its for the lower 48 states I do believe. Our game and fish biologist dont need outside help with game management. Its really about stopping all hunting, they are just picking away one piece at a time. District 3 needs a new congressman.

Pictures? With a parts list. PSA makes 40 different uppers and half a dozen lowers.

Gun laws dont stop criminals. Brazil took away firearms from law abiding in 2005 with a population of 4 million when the murder rate was 40,200 now their murder rate is over 60,000 and the new president is giving the law abiding their guns rights back. If they cant keep all the drugs from coming in from mexico how are they going to stop them from bringing in weapons? A liberal judge in New York gave a criminal who was charged with his third illegal possession of a firearm homework these are the ones who end up shooting a citizen or an officer, they should have gave him 10 years but instead scream for more gun control. These same polices are want enabled one of the last school shootings. If you want to read some excellent studies look up John Lott, he is a criminologist. The state of Florida's crime rate has dropped 60% since 1986, today they have 2 million CCW permit holders, this goes agianst the notion that CCW holders will shoot up the town. Another study of the 22 states that have allowed a weapon (CCW) over the last 10 years shows ZERO shootings. His studies may help you arm yourself.
