Personally I wouldn't buy anything ever again from Mc gowen. They advertised buy now and get your barrel in 4 to 6 weeks it took 6 months and it wouldn't screw into my action the threaded shank was way to big. I had a factory barrel and a Bench Mark barrel and both worked just fine. Bench Mark makes a great savage barrel also.

One problem with savage prefits are barrel contours. They jump from a thin sporter to a #4 contour last I checked you cant get anything in between. Good luck and have fun.

What Stomp stated, and you can get everything you need from North land. I would buy one of his barrel nuts/recoil lug for your new barrel it is light years ahead compared to the old one. I like the Boyds stocks for savage, but Bell & Carlson makes one also. I just read the bill and it appears to be aimed at keeping firearms away from prohibited persons. There are no restrictions on loaning to a friend, family member or as a gift. If they add in any registration for the buyer then its a bad bill. Some of the bills they try to pass require registration.

Thats right Bloomberg is coming to Arizona to do what he did to Virginia along with 13 onther states. Next is the entire country. If you dont belong to Gun Owners of America join up and push back.

Where I grew up I had a honey hole that I harvested most of my better deer in and the terrain looked the same for the most part. I only took three people out there and only one of them didnt get lost. Lost my dad for the better part of a day, we found him about 2.5 miles in the opposite direction from the truck. Another one I lost for almost a day, it was getting dark and starting to snow he was lucky since he didnt have good clothing on. I always carry a compass and take a bearing before I leave the truck, I also keep a pack with enough gear to spend a night out even if I know for sure I am only going one mile from the truck/road.

North from Eagle is a two track that takes you to the base of crystal mountain, then it turns west and you can loop back to Gypsum or turn north along the west side of crystal mtn, it takes you to Bull gulch wilderness. This time of the year all the deer are in this country so its a very good place to hunt predators. He may have ventured this way if he knows what I know. That road gets extremely slick when its gets wet making chains are an absolute necessity.
