The after market support for the vanguard isnt nearly as good as remington. I have owed several vanguards and the series 1 is 50/50 if it shoots real good, the series 2 are excellent. If the long range didnt shoot to my standards it would be easy to replace the barrel with a Carbon fiber barrel and true the action, you wont need a stock.

That looks like a really nice M 88.

REMINGTON 700 3006 SPR. For sale. It comes with a perfectly lapped set of Talley rings a Timney trigger and a PTG firing pin assembly with an aluminum shroud. $400 It shoots factory Barnes 150 TTSX into 5/8 inch and shoots 180 gr. Nosler Partitions, H 4831 into a .66/.67 group with very little load development. The rifle has about 140 rounds through it.

AGFD - Don’t forget the non-lead ammo

Try dropping the bullet weight. Example I wouldn't use anything heavier than a 150 in 308/3006, 150 in 7 mm, 168 gr. in 300 mag. a 127/130 in 270 or 80/85 gr. in 243., 100 gr. in .25 cal. Those 160/185 gr. TTSX would be deadly on deer or elk in a 338, maybe a 210. Those big heavy weights are for grizzly, elephant and cape buffalo. I know several people who have taken deer and elk with 80 gr. TTSX and it put them down. -
I updated the ad I forgot to list the timney trigger that was already installed.
-
They also made it in 41 long colt, 38 long colt, and 32 colt.
-
Correct, its a 38 cal. It needs about $100 in parts at the most to bring it back to life. I found a supplier and a very good video on disassembly/ reassembly.

Its a model 10A. It was my great uncles he gave it to me before he passed about 30 years ago. I dont shoot it any more but it points well and it drops birds like kids eat Halloween candy.
