I have an fx tactical gladiator which shoots .22 cal pellets on 3 different power settings. The highest power hits at 32 ft lbs, the middle at 24 ft lbs and the lowest power setting at 14 ft lbs. can someone give me a general drop estimate around 100 yards for the 3 power settings? Out to 50 yards I can hit a grouping the size of a nickel but haven't shot much past that. Any help appreciated thanks.

@jgraffaz can't really shoot an 06' in the back yard! Pellet guns do have their place.... This is the most high tech piece of gun I have my 06' isn't even a quarter the price of it and it's a model 700.... -
Find high points, look down, the elk bed on ridges midday go slow take your time and stay patient

@muggyman, I meant hunt the western side, not sure why I said east, and long lake/diablo canyon are very thick junipers for the most part and it's flat and loaded with hunters, don't get me wrong these areas have elk but go west for a better hunt.

Aside from the uu bar ranch, I have never been in more elk than on my 5bs late rifle hunt. Stay away from diablo canyon and long lake, hunt the eastern portion of 5bs and you WILL be into bulls! Get up high on mountains and hills and look down. They are always bedded during the day on mountain slopes and hills!!!!

I always wear thermals they help quite a bit

I'm planning on doin the fall archery hunt. Units I'm considering are northern 21 around pine mountain area, southern high desert 22 in the mazatals, 23, 19a and 20a and 20b. I am planning on driving up and doin some scouting once I have a decision on a unit made. I'm open to unit suggestions as well. Also, I have 2bp for the general draw. I was thinking 3a 3c archery. Suggestions on a different unit? I do enjoy archery more than rifle but will hunt rifle if I need to. Not asking for spots, just units. Any help is appreciated.

2013 had to be one of the most memorable years of fishing! I was able to fly fish the snake river and tributaries in island park, baitfish for lake powell stripers, night fish golf courses and hit the gila river a couple times. With low water conditions in most of the west last year I felt concentrations of fish rose, also, lake powell shad had no brush or cover that was submerged due to low water so the populations dive bombed. The benefit to this Is large concentrations of stripers that have nothing to eat that are eager to take any anchovy in sight. This year, buoy 25 was the hotspot ! gotta love it when fishing is so good the family can participate ! me hookin up with a north fork rainbow . a lake powell smallmouth they were hittin Yamamoto senko a this year. here's a couple cut throats, absolutely beutiful fish ! and here's a couple from night fishing granite falls golf course!😄 like I said, amazing year!!

Were you catchin the invasive largemouths or the trout? Last year I caught about 9 12-15 in largemouths in about an hour. See any elk? There's always a ridiculous amount of sign on the shoreline around black canyon!

drew the youth cow tag years back. Figured Id share the story. We spent about 3 total weekends scouting in preparation for my hunt. My dad and I finally felt confident in our knowledge of the herd routes and where to locate elk morning afternoon and evening. When the season finally comes around we're eager and and arrive there a day in advance. Let me tell y'all I have never heard so much bugling in my life and I have had the wonderful opportunity of drawing a 2 early archery tags and tagging along on numerous other hunts. This really got the blood pumpin heck I think I slept like 5 minutes that night. Opening morning we head out to a promising area and start chasing bugles in hopes of findin some cows with them. We located 3 bulls around the 300-280 range but they were all satellites. After about 6 hours of chasing these satellite bulls, we decide it's time to try a different area. As we are heading back to the truck, as luck will have it a whole herd of 20 runs right in front of us 1/4 mile from the truck. The herd bull in this group had to be a 350 bull! I chose out the cow in the back and the 30-06 did the rest. The pack out was fairly simple we quartered it and got it all out in 3 trips. This hunt all in all was a very memorable one and I enjoyed every minute of it. We actually mounted this cow as odd as it may seem. It was honestly the prettiest cow I ever seen. I am now workin on gettin a bull to mount next to it. Any youth lookin for a fun hunt this one shoul not be overlooked! If any of y'all draw this tag I'll be happy to help ya out n point ya in the right direction.

Go 5-10 miles east of black canyon lake. There's a strip of thick forest that is for the most part roadless. It's loaded with elk and lots of bulls are pushed through the Heber area from 4b into it. I don't mind telling you this because I don't hunt 3c and probably never will. I just fish the area and dirt bike there and no lie around every corner on the trails in that area there's a 300 bull. Pm me if you need more specifics.

3c and 23 border area, the fish hatchery is to your left and you are close if not on the rim looking over the valley. Ill take a screen shot on google earth and post where the field in your background is. The second picture is the hatchery in the center and the third is an overview, I think you are a little south west of the hatchery😄 gotta be specific

The uu bar leased the cs and offers some hunts there but the majority of hunts are on their origional deeded property in 55b, 54, and 48. And they had a 400 bull go down This year so that's why I included the possible upgrade. Thanks for your info though I'm lookin forward to it!

My father and I ended up booking with the uu bar ranch in nm for October 1-5 rifle season fully guided. It's the same ranch that lee and Tiffany from the outdoor Chnl hunt every year. Any advice on do's dont's, what type of bull I should hold out for, what I should expect to see, or anything I should know about. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
-
I'm hunting on the uu bar side same as lee and tiff, with the option of the cs angel fire side. And it's the management bull but if a 350+ bull walks out I'm going to upgrade and shoot that.

You should be asking your outfitter or the the ranch owner these questions before you book? I got most their opinion on these things but outfitters occasionally tend to stretch the truth so I want everyone's opinions. The booking was between my father and them so I had no say anyways. Just curios.

Forget az! I'm glad I didn't draw! My dad and I just booked with the uu bar ranch near Chama New Mexico!
