There are several great websites that offer real and accurate draw odds. I feel Gohunt.com is probably the best. There are also several draw odds apps. They all have various issues, but are overall very helpful. Lately I've been using the Base Kamp app. The only problem with this app is when it says 100% it's actually talking about 100% of first and second choice apps. Due to it looking at both first and second choices the odds can be a little off.

This recent hunt with Chris had more challenges than most. The warm weather slowed the deer movement more than I would have ever expected! Add on a horrible chest cold and you have a challenging hunt! I went into this hunt with very high expectations, but unfortunately the weather conditions and sickness forced us to seriously evaluate our situation. Chris had said from the very beginning he just wanted to have fun and gain valuable hunting experiences. He never cared about the size of the deer. Gaining more experiences was the most important thing he wanted to get out of the hunt. Thankfully Chris found a buck he was happy with and the hunt ended with a lot of great memories and some great meat in the freezer. I have to say Chris has come a long ways. He just started hunting 4 years ago. Prior to 4 years ago he had zero hunting experiences. In those 4 years he's become one heck of a hunter! On multiple occasions he glassed a LOT more deer than I did. He always has a great attitude and is willing to go into places most are not. From the beginning Chris was always been interested in learning how to become better at hunting. After 4 years I would say he has done everything correct and is well on his way to becoming a great hunter! Keep up the great work buddy, I'm proud of what you have accomplished!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! I'm very jealous, because I want to get one really bad! All my buddies make fun of me every time we are glassing. They love to say "I've got a Coati", because they like watching me freak out saying "where, How far, can I get on it." I would definitely eat one. I would just treat it like bear or lion meat. Ensure its cooked thoroughly!!!! Congrats again!!!!

I hunt the 2nd season the same as I do the first. I cover a lot of ground while doing a lot of calling. I've had some very hot birds come in on a string during the 2nd season. Sitting a good water hole is another very effective way to get a bird. However you decide to hunt you need to be in an area that holds birds. Good scouting will tell you where to concentrate your efforts.
