Big Browns

Have you spent any time glassing at first light and late afternoon hours? When I scout a new area my first objective is to find 5-6 new glassing spots and spend at liest 1 morning and evening at each spot. Some spots are better in the morning or evening. Usually this system works great for me. Once I find several spots that I'm seeing lots of Deer in I start breaking down that area more by hiking the general area. I can tell you that 36b has a lot of Deer and a lot of very good glassing spots. I usually like to glass for the first 3 hours in the morning and start glassing around 2pm in the afternoon, but don't be affraid to glass in the mid day period. Coues like to water from 10-2pm. That can be a really good time to see them walking around. Hope this helps. Adam

Great Video!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a much better video than some DVD's that I've purchased. I hope you guys make more video's. I loved that blind. Very unique. All you needed was a lazy boy and a TV and you would have the perfect blind:) Great job!

Get the Vortex Viper. The turret system is Awesome. You will not regret it. There scopes are much better than Nikon in my opinion. Adam

If you can glass the area to spot and stalk that would be great. If not, try to find the water source and set up on that. If you can't find the water than sit in a tree stand or ground blind and wait them out. It all depends on how you like to hunt and what you have the most convidence doing. I know that calling would probably be a great way to go, but I personally don't have any convidence or experance doing that so I don't use that technique. Kidso would probably be able to give you some great advice on how to call Bears. I know he has called in many! Good luck and don't forget to hydrate and look out for snakes!!!!!!!!!!!! Adam

I read a study earlier today that talked about bedding Bears. The survey said a majority of Bears will bed within a 0.4 KM or water and all bears will bed within 0.8 KM of water. The study said most Bear's will bed in an area that has less than a 5m visible area surrounding the bedding area. It also said that most Bears will bed on the up hill side of the tree and they will usually bed above the most dominant tree on the slope. I've never seen a bedded Bear, but the info in the study does fit with some of the thing's I have seen in the field. Adam
