I'm looking for a Cabin in Payson to rent for my Elk hunt from Nov-30 to Dec 6. I would like to find a cabin that is centraly located around Payson, because 3 of the guys have the north hunt and I have the south hunt. If anyone knows of a good one to rent I would really appreciate the info. Price is important. I'm trying to find something that is under $1000 for the week. Dec 27 would be a Awesome Hunt, but a terrible management idea! These Hunts will really hurt those unit's. I cant beleive that G&F is even thinking about it. Just my 2 cents. Adam

I'm happy to say I finally got drawn for Elk. I got my second choice of 22 South Rifle Bull. I know the area pretty good so I'm not looking for honey holes. I would love to hear from anyone who has had that tag in the last couple of years. How was the hunt? What were some of the pro's and con's of that hunt? What quality of Bulls should I expect to see? I know the South area can have some really nice Bull's, but a lot of that depends on the weather.

Any new reports of fresh sign? I'm headed out this weekend to do some Turkey scouting and hopefully find a lonely Bear:) Adam

You have two choices, 1st set up several tree stands on water and game trails. 2nd spot and stalk. It's a great unit, but that hunt can be very difficult. I would get very familar with the area and start setting up camra's. Good luck. Adam

I know how hard it is to spend two thousand dollars on a pair of binoculars, but trust me and many others. Do it! You will never regret it! You will be much better off buying a high end binocular. They will last you your entire life time and the warranty's are great. If you watch the classifides you can find a used pair of 10 or 15 Swarovski for under $1800. There was a pair of Swarovski 15's on craigslist a month ago that sold for $1400. Keep saving and buy the best not the 2nd, 3rd or 4th best! Just my 2 cent's.

They said he has no outdoor experience. That's very dangerous for someone walking around that area or any area. It's a sad reminder to always be prepared and let friends and family know where your going. I always carry enough food, water, emergency mummy bag and fire starting equipment to last me 3 days. I wount be very comfortable, but I will have a good chance of surviving until I'm found or can walk out. Adam

We found 1 Brown 5 point. There was a lot of fresh and week old sign. I was suprised we didn't find more. I'm suprised at the amount of Bulls that are still carying there horns. I would have thought most would have dropped by now. Adam

I was under the rim on Sunday. I saw some old sign, but nothing from this year. I was really suprised at the lack of old sign. I put a camra out on a spring I found. Hopefully it's still there in a couple of weeks. If it is I hope there are a few Turkey and Bears on it. I think it will be a great spot for the Archery Spring 22 Hunt! Adam

I got a CC hit for Elk:) It looks like I will either be hunting the Archery Rut in 22 or the late 22S rifle hunt. Either way I will be very happy:) I had 5 Points. Adam
