Suggestions on which long range gun to buy
Big Browns replied to Big Browns's topic in Long Range Shooting
Thanks for all the info guys. I will be using the gun for hunting Elk, Bear and Coues. I'm really considering the Savage 110fcp 338 Lapua. Does anyone have any hands on experience with this gun? Adam -
I have this scope! It's Awesome! Give me a call and I can give you a few tip's on using it. Adam 928-595-1554

Swaro needing repair OMG at hunting season
Big Browns replied to willhunt4coues's topic in Optics and tripods
It only took about 10 days to get mine back a few years ago. I'm not happy with Swarovski warranty service compared to Vortex. For the money Swarovski should be much better than everyone else, but there not! I had a riffle scope break last thursday. I over nighted it on Friday to Vortex. I spoke with them today and they have already over nighted it back to me repaired, no charge! That is exellent service!!!!!!!!! Swarovski used to have the best warranty, but they have gone away from service. I wonder how long it will take them to go away from quality! -
My brother in law and I went to Silver Creek for a few hours on Sunday morning. We ended up catching 3 really nice Rainbows and only 2 Apache's. I caught my 2 fish on a Black Flashback nymph on 5x with my 1 wt rod. I had the best luck slowly stripping it. My Brother in law caught his on a prince nymph below a dry dead drifting it. We watched several other guys catch some huge fish using similar techniques. The Apache's were not bitting much while we were there. We didn't measure the fish, but who needs to when they are that big. It was an Awesome day!

My Brother in law went back on Wednesday. He caught a couple of nice Apache's, but no big fish. He did see 6 large snakes! He said they were all over the place. He walked in around 10 and left around 3pm. I'm sure the snakes are out that time of day compared to early morning. Keep your eye out for those nasty, scary creatures!!!!!!!! I hate snakes.

Your going to have a rwally hard time getting what it's all worth selling it as a lot. You will get more money if you piece it out. How much do you want for the guns? Adam

I talked to my local butcher this week and he informed me that he usually has several people each year that dont pick up there meet so I thought I would see if anyone here has some meet they dont want. If you got an Elk and you can't afford to get it from the butcher please give me a call and I would be happy to pick it up from the butcher or I would be willing to split the cost on a processed Elk. I know it's a shot in the dark, but you don't know untill you try:) Adam

3D Printing....have you seen this technology?
Big Browns replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in The Campfire
I'm hoping Swarovski makes a printer cartridge so I can start printing Swarovski 20-60x80 Spotting scope and the Kowa Highlanders:) Adam -
I would highly recomend staying far away form 3 bar area. There are some nice deer there, but there will be hundreds of people in that area on opening weekend! Start looking in out of the way area's and you will find Muley Buck's. Unfortunatly the 22 Muley population is not anything like it used to be. Good Luck!

What type of AR to get depends on what you are going to use it for. I went thru this exact situation a few month's ago. I finally realized that I only wanted an AR, because they look cool and would be fun to shoot. Therefore I bought a Lower end (DPMS Sportacle) at a gun show for $500. I love the gun! It shoots perfectly, accurate and dependable. My kids think I'm cool for having one and it's a blast to shoot. I made the perfect choice for what I am using the gun for. You will need to decide what you will be using the gun for. If your just plinking. I woudl go with a DPMS or a medium priced gun. If your going to be competing with it or going into war with it, then I would buy a high end gun. Hope this helps! Adam

Is the maximum magazine size still 5 or has that been changed? For some reason I thought I heard that the G&F changed that rule to allow larger magazine sizes. Do you know where that rule is posted. Adam

Thanks for explaining the process Brian. It's really nice to hear from G&F Officals on this site. Please continue to share your knowledge with us and help us understand the rules and policies of Arizona G&F. Adam
