I have also had really good luck with 24.5 grains of H335 with a V-Max. I'm going to try that same load this weekend in my dad's gun. I have a feeling that his gun is going to like heavier bullets. -
+1, after that hunt is finished I would like to go to the resort. Best of both world's!

Arizona Prairie dog hunting
Big Browns posted a topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I'm thinking about taking my sons to Seligman for some Prairie dog fun. I've never hunted them before, but it looks like fun. Anyone hunted Arizona Prairie dogs before? What are the season dates? Adam -
Good Luck! They are very hard to find right now! You can find 50-52 grain Sierra's at Bruno's, but they are starting to get harder to find. Best bet is to get on several notification list's on several web sites. That way you will be notified as soon as they come back in stock. If you find a bunch or a deal on a bulk order let me know. I might be willing to go in on the order with you. Adam

Has anyone had any luck shooting 40 grain bullets out of a 16 inch barrel and 1-9 twist? Thanks!

I'm trying to decide on a scope as well. I've been debating on the Huskemaw and the Vortex Viper PST! I feel both scopes would work just fine for what I need. The Vortex is less than the Huskemaw. My concern with the Huskemaw is the warranty. If the scope brakes in a few years would Huskemaw still be around and would they honor the scope repair. Vortex will probably be around for a long time. We all know they have one of the best warranties in the industry. Huskemaw is only a 20 power scope. The Vortex is 25 power. I do really like the Huskemaw's wind marks on the turret. I know they work well and can be very useful. When you add them up, the Vortex wins most of the time. Swarovski, Zeiss, Nightforce are amazing scopes, but I don't have that type of money to put into a scope at this time. For the money the Vortex is the best value on the market, in my opinion!

I'm still not sure what a fair price is. Does $80 sound fair? Feel free to call me. 928-595-1554 -

Big Browns replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Thanks guys. 14 pounds should be a little over 1000 rounds. The brass is a mix of 5.56 and 223. Not sure how much of each there is. Thanks for the info guys. Adam
