YouTube it, there's a bunch of "how to" vids online. Outdoor edge has some good instructional vids, and some good knives. Great Idea!

The gutless method is the Best way to take care of an Elk in the Back country. It's very simple. Quarter the animal. Remove all the neck & rib meat. When you take the back straps off you can get to the Tenderloin from the top. It's a lot easier if you have a few people with you, but it can be done by yourself. If you’re on a slope do yourself a huge favor and tie off one of the legs before you start quartering the Elk. Trust me! I tried quartering my Elk last year by myself on a steep slope without tying the legs. The Elk was 30 yards down the hill after I finished quartering him. Every time I moved him, he would slide down the hill. It SUCKED! I learned a very valuable lesson! I will be up there scouting for my wife's hunt. If you get one down call me! Adam

That looks like some steep country! Great job!

I agree that Vortex is not on the F-Class line, but neither is Swarovski! Nightforce and Sightron own that market. When you look at the Spotting scopes on the line you will see %95 of the people are using Kiowa and not Swarovski. It's a totaly different world. Yes Vortex glass is not as clear as some other brands, but for the price and customer service they are well above the rest in my opinion. Adam

I sent Mark a PM yesterday asking if he had any Burris xtreme rings in stock. He was very quick to respond and had them in stock, plus they were cheaper than buying online. Great customer service! Thanks Mark! Adam

Looking For Part Time Employment
Big Browns replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
Look at Craigslist for jobs. Sometimes they have some really good leads. You can also go to the Student center and look on the job board. When I went to school there I got several jobs off that job board wall. Have him contact some air/heating companies to see if they are hiring helpers. I know most AC companies hire helpers in the summer down here. I would imagine someone needs help during the summer. Good Luck! -
That sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I talked to some people who told me they were getting bit by mosquito’s really bad the night before. They were told to take dryer sheets and rub them on your skin and clothes. They swore it worked better than bug repellent. I know dryer sheets smell, a lot, but I would rather keep the wind in my face and keep the bugs off of me. I'm going to give it a try during dove season. Adam

Awesome! Thanks for the info!

If money and room is not a factor I would do a full pedestal mount. That would be a beautiful full pedestal mount! -
That looks Awesome!

I have a Savage model 10 308 that I'm interested in building into a F-Class gun. Would like some suggestions on anyone who shoots this class. Is this a solid platform for an F-class gun or should go another direction? Thx, Adam

Thanks for the info guys. We have not tried any of the Berger bullets yet, because we have not been able to find any. As soon as I get some I will give them a try. Any suggestion on starting loads? What powder do you like the best for 308? Adam
-
I bought the rifle used. We have tried 10-15 different loads and can not seem to get anything better than 1 inch groups. I know the rifle should be capable of much bettet groups. I'm not trying to break any records, but I would like to have a competitive f-class rifle. I'm considering a better stock, barrel, bedding/ trueing the action. Would it be worth putting that much money into the gun or would I get better results on a different build? The gun is a stock model 10 308, acustock and fluted heavy barrel Adam
