Sounds like you had a great time. Welcome to the world of Bear hunting. Finding Bears can be very hard. Getting a shot on a Bear can be even harder at times. It seems like they are constantly moving. Keep up the good work and you will get one. Great job and story! Adam

I stopped selling on Craigslist and started using Backpage! For some reason I have had much better luck using Backpage. I try to be very easy going, but at times I have had to play hard ball. When I post something for sale I'm assuming I will get low ball offers. It's just part of the game. I don't let them bother me. They are trying to get the best deal and so am I. I do NOT make a deal unless I talk them on the phone. The text only scares me!!! Arizonashooting forum is another great place to sell items. You have to have 10 post's before you can post something, but that doesn't take long. Adam

I'm at work, but I really wasn't planning on hunting anyway. I have a Dec rifle tag. I'm going out on Sunday, but it's going to have to be a huge Deer to get me to release an arrow! Maybe I will get lucky! Good Luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a friend who is coming to town for the Dove hunt. Anyone own or know of a farm that we can access for some AWESOME dove hunting. I really want to show him a great time, because he's coming in from out of town. I have been scouting all my normal spots, but all of them are void of Dove. I would prefer a East Valley spot, but we would be willing to drive to the South or West if the spot is good enough. Thanks, Adam

Less than 30 days before Dove Season

I was just reviewing the dove regs and found out my old honey hole is now closed. It was a super busy spot, but it always held a lot of birds. The county Island that is west of the 202 and south of the Mesa Gateway freeway is now closed to hunting. There were some changes for Maricopa and Tucson. Make sure you guys review the regs. They were ammended Aug 3rd. Hopefully my other spots will have a lot of birds. Good Luck everyone! Adam -

YouTube it, there's a bunch of "how to" vids online. Outdoor edge has some good instructional vids, and some good knives. Great Idea!

The gutless method is the Best way to take care of an Elk in the Back country. It's very simple. Quarter the animal. Remove all the neck & rib meat. When you take the back straps off you can get to the Tenderloin from the top. It's a lot easier if you have a few people with you, but it can be done by yourself. If you’re on a slope do yourself a huge favor and tie off one of the legs before you start quartering the Elk. Trust me! I tried quartering my Elk last year by myself on a steep slope without tying the legs. The Elk was 30 yards down the hill after I finished quartering him. Every time I moved him, he would slide down the hill. It SUCKED! I learned a very valuable lesson! I will be up there scouting for my wife's hunt. If you get one down call me! Adam

That looks like some steep country! Great job!

I agree that Vortex is not on the F-Class line, but neither is Swarovski! Nightforce and Sightron own that market. When you look at the Spotting scopes on the line you will see %95 of the people are using Kiowa and not Swarovski. It's a totaly different world. Yes Vortex glass is not as clear as some other brands, but for the price and customer service they are well above the rest in my opinion. Adam

I sent Mark a PM yesterday asking if he had any Burris xtreme rings in stock. He was very quick to respond and had them in stock, plus they were cheaper than buying online. Great customer service! Thanks Mark! Adam

Looking For Part Time Employment
Big Browns replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in The Campfire
Look at Craigslist for jobs. Sometimes they have some really good leads. You can also go to the Student center and look on the job board. When I went to school there I got several jobs off that job board wall. Have him contact some air/heating companies to see if they are hiring helpers. I know most AC companies hire helpers in the summer down here. I would imagine someone needs help during the summer. Good Luck!
