    first bear hunt ever!!!!

Bears do not move a lot during the Spring. Water & Grass is the key to spring Bear hunting. Most Bears will spend 98% of their time in deep dark canyon's eating grass. They can be very, very difficult to find. Your best luck will be walking as many canyon's as possible to look for fresh sign. Once you have found some good sign you should sit water as it get's hotter or use a predator call. The August/October hunt is a lot easier, because the Bears move a lot more looking for food or water. Most people sit water in August for Bears. While sitting water you can shoot Deer, Bear, Turkey & Mt. Lion in most unit's. Either way you will have a lot of fun. Adam

    first bear hunt ever!!!!

I would advise getting the O/C rifle tag or waiting for the Aug/Oct hunt! The spring hunt can and usually is extremely difficult. Be advised that Bear hunting is very addicting!!!!!!!!!!! Adam

    Need some advice

I stopped using camera's because I was concerned I would kill someone if I had another one stolen. Losing a camera is very disappointing, depressing and stressful. Using camera's was a really fun hobby for me and my friends, but after having numerous camera's stolen I couldn't handle the stress any more. I used to put a lot of time, money and gas into each set up. After walking up to the tree to find the camera gone, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack from the stress and anger. I finally realized it wasn't worth the stress. I really miss looking at all the new pictures, but I don't miss the anger I felt after having one stolen. I HATE CAMERA THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who's still looking to harvest their Bull in 22!

I want to praise Speedygoss for all of his hard work and hunting ethics! After shooting the Bull on Saturday morning he has spent over 35 hours walking the area looking for his Bull. He has done everything right! I am very impressed with his dedication. I wish more people would put that amount of work into finding wounded animals. Great job and keep the faith! Adam

Who's still looking to harvest their Bull in 22!

I'm sure it's just a rumor, but I was told G&F intends to up the 25 archery tags to 250 archery tags next year. I'm praying it's just a nasty rumor, but I would not be suprised! If that happens 22 will never be the same!!!!!!!!! Adam

Lost Bull Found!!!! Can't beat a Bloodhounds nose!!

I'm sure more people would use dogs to track their lost game if they knew someone who had one to use. It would be nice if these dogs were available to the general public for use or rent. If I lost an animal I would definately pay to have someone bring dogs to help track the animal. Adam

    scopeless...

The Vortex PST 6.5-24x50 is Awesome! Get whatever reticle you like the best. I personally do not like a busy reticle, because I only use the turret for dialing distance. I would prefer just a cross hair, but it's not available. The SFP is under $800 and is a great scope!

The concept for the film formed as a team from Danner joined an elk hunt with Winterhawk Outfitters in Colorado’s Flat Top Wilderness more than two years ago. They followed a father and daughter on the daughter’s first-ever elk hunt and witnessed the experience of a lifetime as she shot her first mature bull elk. “While our team navigated the side of a 12,000-foot mountain and traveled the four-hour horseback ride to base camp, a full moon wrapped the Rocky Mountains in the most stunning light,” said Haven Anderson, Creative Director for Danner Boots. “The film came to life at that very moment, when the elk we were packing out faded from our thoughts and the beauty that surrounded flooded in. We wanted to create a film that captured that moment – a piece that is more than just about harvesting a mature bull and instead sharing how any hunt, no matter if you fill your tag or not, is a successful one.” The majority of The Trembling Giant was shot by a nimble three-man crew that spent more than a month in the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains. They followed three hunting groups— a team of athletes, a team of old timers and a father and daughter duo—each trying to call in a mature bull. The film crew climbed and descended thousands of miles in elevation each day to capture a variety of footage while not hindering the success of any hunt and respecting the pristine wilderness and wildlife.
