Sounds fun! Where will it be? My only advise would be not to have any stages that do not allow range finders. Most if not all long range shooters will not shoot if they do not know the range anyway. Having a stage that doesn't allow range finders may be fun, but promotes that type of shooting instead of advising against it. Call it The "Heally Arms Hunting Tournament"

I have spent countless hours trying to get my DPMS 260 AR to shoot sub MOA. Regardless of any ammo I put thru it the best I can get is 1 1/2 to 2 moa. The most recent 500 yard grouping was HORRIBLE. It was over 12 inch group size. I really want an accurate AR in either 260 or 6.5 creedmoor. I found several companies who have match grade barrels in stock for both calibers. I'm wondering if the componets on the DPMS are worth putting a $500 barrel on it? Have any of you re-barreled a DPMS AR10? If so what were the results? Thanks, Adam

Well I got the new barrel and still have the same issues as before. I cannot get the gun to shoot consistently. Every time I think I have found a good load it shoots totally different the next time out. I really hate this gun!!!!!! Anyone have any advice on how to get consistent groups out of an AR10? What else could be causing this type of issue?

I wish more people understood the EXTREME importance of verifying their balistic data in real world hunting situations. Almost all balistic calculators will need to be tweeked a little or a lot.

I was taught long ago to never go into a spot if you know somone else is there. It's rude, disrespectful & inconsiderate! I usually get to my spots with plenty of time to get to another spot if some else is already there. I refuse to go into an area if I know someone else is hunting there. As others have stated, this type of respect is usually never returned. I can't even begin to count how many times I've had someone show up at sunrise and walk up to my glassing spot like it's nothing. Very, Very anoying!!!!!

Give me a call and I will tell you about a few area's that I use for 500+ Like the others have said Phoenix Rod & Gun Club have a 500 yard range that you can use. Rio also has a designated 500 yard range, but you must get approved to use it by shooting 3 long range matches and become a member. Finding a desert spot is really the best! Adam
