I highly doubt they will be in the same area unless there is still a good food source around.

We decided to try a new area today. We've only seen 4 eurasions, but still a lot of mornings flying around. I just got my limit in less than 1 hour.

Can't get out until this afternoon. I will report after I'm done.

This is exactly why I have been buying points and not putting in for the hunt. I don't have the money for a guide and if I did I probably would not hire one anyway. I'm hoping they open the park to hunting and that will change the hunt Drastically. I have a lot of respect for Russ and everything he does for the non-paying clients. Yes, he puts his paid clients on the better salt, as he should. If I paid for a guided hunt and found out he allowed a non-paid hunter to hunt the more active salt I would be pissed. I've also known several people who have not paid any money who were able to kill with the help of Russ. Overall he does his best to help the non paying hunters while also doing everything he can to ensure success to his paying customers. They both go hand in hand. Unfortunately the area has a lot of hunt pressure and scouting like you would on any other hunt has the potential to really mess up other people's hunts. I would hope everyone who has this tag has the common respect to not do that. I know you don't want to hear this, but did you really expect Russ to give a non paying hunter a great salt spot? If he still had clients trying to get animals you would definitely come after them. Yes, you could have decided to disregard what Russ asked and go to the more active salt. I'm happy to hear you didn't. As you discovered this hunt has some very interesting challenges. I agree 100% with you. This is not the type of hunt I am interested in!

I had the same issue today with the Mesa office. When I called the main office the lady had no idea what the Mesa office was talking about. She was not aware of any new Policy! Very strange!!!

If your having a hard time hitting birds I highly recommend changing to a more open choke. Especially during the early season when the birds are coming in close. A Cylinder or Improved Cylinder choke will usually help those who are struggling hitting birds. Once you get your confidence up you can switch to a Modified choke so you can hit birds a little further out.

Another great morning with family and friends!!!!! I decided I would just watch my boy hunt and cook some Dove for breakfast for everyone. My boy shot great and the Dove bites were fantastic!!!

I'm sitting at my spot waiting for the sun to come up. This will be the 5th and final day of the first week of the 2016 Dove extravaganza. I'm already looking forward to next weekend. I tried getting some sleep once I got here, but I'm too excited. My son is having no problems sleeping:)

You cooked it wrong, because Dove are fantastic!!!!I like you, but you're crazy. I did the bacon jalapeño cream cheese dove concoction. I tried to show it love you know, I wanted it to be good.Marinade in Italian dressing for a couple days. Add a piece of jalapeño and wrap in bacon. Now lather it in A1 sauce and place on the grill. The A1 sauce will carmolize and turn into a sweet bbq flavor. I promise they will taste like little pieces of steak! Here is a picture of some Dove I will be cooking tomorrow morning during our hunt.

We had another great afternoon shoot with the kids. All 3 kids limited! We ended with over 75 birds between 5 shooters!

The last couple of days has been crazy good Dove hunting! Unfortunately I didn't get any group dove pics. Yesterday I invited 12 friends out to my spot. Everyone had their limit by 8 and everyone had numerous eurasions down. Today we had 6 people and again everyone limited, but 2. It has been an EPIC season! I wasn't able to get my son out this morning so we're headed back out this afternoon so he can get his limit. I'll be back out tomorrow for one more day until I have to go back to work.

Today was EPIC! 5 of us limited, including my best friends grands son for the first time. We also got into a lot of Eurasions. Total was 75 Morning dove & 70 Eurasions. We're having a huge bbq tonight and tomorrow!!!
