scout4u replied to scoutm's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
my norm is 2 days early(wed) but this year work wont allow that extra day so its thursday for me i'll be in 32 drving a red XJ so feel free too stop, rest whatever. -
counting the mins is an understatement. I will be heading down to 32 thursday morning set camp and then prepare for a restless night .. i want to wish everyone a safe an enjoy-able hunt this year

been there done that and hate it everytime. I think u handled it like a true sportsman kudos and congrats. i thnk when u apply for tags u need to take a ethics test 1st hey maybe thats one way to thin the hunt population weaker gene pool.

found in uncles garage
scout4u replied to thunderbolt's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
what a waste spend the time and money to have it mounted and then hang it in the garage. on the other hand we dont know the whole story and i have a feeling it includes a wifes(aunt) point of view..........either way its an killer buck i totally dig the drop -

scout4u replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
i dont know they seem to be pretty calm for a taking a monster like that... they wouldnt even beable to take my pic unless they had a high speed motion cam since i would still shaking and jumping up and down. -

i dont expect things to change overnight between hunters and land owners but if we chip away at the ice long enough sometime it will crack and fall. I think these gatherings should be down in every unit with issues. I always pack out 10x more trash then i pack in but i am only one man. heck i even pack a few hose and wire repair kits with me on my quad just incase while out hunting i see a water line that needs fixed or a fence that needs worked. I work at Ace hardware so the supplies cost me next to nothing and fixing things in the field is well worth a few extra mins of my time........

did anyone else hunting in 32 get the post card about the public and private land clean up being held on Oct 7th? With all the access issue this is a great way to bring the land owners and hunters together. Its being held at Copper Creek Road in Mammoth thats where they will provide bags and directions to the areas that need attention. the contact info is Matt Walton, Landowner Relations Coordinator # 520-388-4468

I had racks but as many said the dust and cold just plays heck on yur scopes so this year i am switching to a hard case when i get my new quad that is. also when you smack into branches etc its a good idea to have some protection fro your rifle right.i was told its legal to have the rifle on a rack just as long as its empty.

who hunts with ballistic tip ammo?
scout4u replied to AZ RANGER's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
i used a ballistic tip for my 7mm and killed my deer at 250yrds he did a back flip and thats all she wrote. The damage was bad i lost almost the whole right quarter due to bullet and bone frags it wasnt pretty (but made field dressing a snap )
