it may be that u need to practice more on stalking insted if shooting. The closer u can get the better the shot ops will be. its been said before and i agree practice makes perfect just hang in there and keep trying it doesnt happen overnight.

Bowhunter tries to close road with boulders on Saturday
scout4u replied to bowsniper's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
i have had this happen to me before, both road blocking and stand hijacking. It sucks no matter which way u look at it but its the first comer gets it even though i spend time and MONEY i just learned to get up abit earlier. But i have also stumbled across a stand & cam where i was scouting that wasnt there a few weeks before, this person left his name and number on a note asking others to keep away (which i laughed at) I called this fellow up and we were able to work out a "schedule" and he was also kind enough to share his cam photos with me. Funny thing is he didnt have any of his stuff locked or secured so when i called him i reminded him that he should really put a lock on his stuff b4 a less honest person strolled by .... Stand hijacking is one thing but to try and close off access to a area is just way much and no "warning" should be giving report this person because if i read the post correctly this was a second attempt. -
A few of the town bulls

town pets, heck i'm living in the wrong town then -
You can buy a ferrari but if u dont know how to drive it then its a waste the same applies to glassing. You can own the "BEST" equipment but if dont know how to fully utitilize it you arent getting your moneys worth.

dang u guys got me feeling all bad now ...i sent ya a PM with some starting points bowhunter12 this should be titled "Hunters with Hearts"...

its not called "finding" its hunting and as stated above you need to put in the hours and miles to make the reward worth it. You can take someones advice and find the game but it doesnt bring meaning to the term hunt-ing. In my mind if someone tells you everything about the area, game etc its not hunting its just killing. ( big game guides excluded) Definitions of hunting: hunt: the pursuit and killing or capture of wild animals regarded as a sport hunt-search: the activity of looking thoroughly in order to find something or someone hunt: the work of finding and killing or capturing animals for food or pelts

Took the family lastnight to get some last min bear gear we had dinner and then roamed around my 2 year old loved the mounts she kept saying "daddy yur deer, daddys deer" i was saying "ohh daddy wishes oh does daddy wish". I was surprised it wasnt very crowded especially after the cards game on a saturdaynight no less.

lol i get a hunting allowance and if i go over... well lets just say this would be my last post. My wife doesnt care that i hunt its the cost of my "needed" items to do so but i always drop the "i could collect stamps" line and she folds like a blind man playing blackjack. Good luck to everyone and may your wifes & husbands be forgiving.

As stated before i hope it stays open until next week so i can at least get out and stretch my legs. sounds like you guys had a good time.

Trail cam suggestions and setup
scout4u replied to archeryasu's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
whats the name of this camera from wal-mart i cant seem to locate it. I am wanting another cam for a high human traffic area and i cant stand the 35mm and dont want to lose a $300+ cam to some jackA$$ and his buddies. -
the only problem with that is when u get to the top of the hill to glass yur so dang tired u fall asleep only to wake up and walk(roll) back down
-
very nice i am enjoying all the photos cant say my wife is though...all i get out is 'hey hun" and she says "i dont care" ahhh gotta love hunting season.

The garmin mapsource is good for a quick terrain check if your hiking but for hunting i find that it isnt all that good (in my opinion no offense) i have used and sold garmin gps units and software aswell as taught gps classes. And i have heard soo many people talk about getting lost or that thier maps didnt show the correct springs, seeps.tanks, trails etc and the most common problem is that people tend to rely only on the gps and its "mapping" so if it fails u are lost. Like i said mapsource is really only good for general location reference. So if you use it please still carry a hard map and compass.
