    Another Premium Elk Tag

Just drew an archery tag too! Elk gods have been nice to me, as my dad and I have gotten drawn almost every other year about 12 years now!

    How long?

Arrowed? Still waiting to do that. Went on my first bull hunt in 4A in '91 at the ripe age of 11. Dad was archery hunting. I've been hooked ever since. But I shot my first bull in '95 with a .54 Thompson Center Renegade muzzle loader. Then my second two years later with the same rifle. A few cows with my trusty 'ought 6 and muzzy. Didn't get to bow hunt elk a lot because my dad developed bad shoulders and couldn't draw a bow anymore. Dad passed away a year and a half ago, so my boy and I are hitting it hard with the bows now. Fingers crossed this year! Good luck to everyone!

    check this YouTube video out!

That was a good shot. I've passed that shot before, but it was a little further than this one. I think I would take it at 20, being that he didn't seem like he was going to present a better, broadside shot. A few more steps and I think that bull would have busted them both.

    Fixed blade broadhead vs. mechanical

Though I am not discounting anyones experiences with Slick Tricks, I have had two pass throughs on mule deer with them and the exit wound looked like I shot the deer with a 12 gauge shotgun slug point blank. I know all shooting scenarios are different, but in my experiences I have had great results with ST Grizz Trick II's. It might help that I was shooting a 70# Omen too.

    UPDATE PAYMENT INFO!

I have a question. Earlier it was stated that it was illegal for them to charge our credit/debit cards without "getting something for it in return". Then why is it ok for us to pay them the full permit price via check or money order on a paper app? Just wondering.

    WTB: PSE Bow

I know its not adjustable, but I am selling my Omen. Its 29"/70# and has a Whisker Biscuit, 2 piece Eclipse quiver with 6 gold tip hunters in it, red paracord braided wrist sling, and I have an older Extreme sight I will put on it. Like new shape. I'm in Mesa though, a little far I know. Hoping to get around $500 for it.

Who's going out for the HAM 2014?

Hello all! My first post! My son and I will be over in 27. Picked up a few leftovers. Not sure where to go though, never been there! Should be fun regardless! Between my PSE Omen, Smith 29 44 mag and my old .50 T/C, we should have our bases covered. Good luck to everyone!
