I stuck a GoPro on my shotgun a few years back for a few hunts. Kinda fun, but I didn’t have any use for footage like that so it ran its course. I just played with it for dove, might be cool to try again for ducks, Sandhills, or quail this year… hmm…

Also, if you don’t really want to hire a guide or go knock on doors, the big dairy farm down there has a program where you can sign up and they’ll let you hunt on their land. We haven’t done it, and not exactly sure about the details, but it’s a pretty decent opportunity to find a pretty easy spot to start

We are no experts, shot a few as first timers a few years ago just sitting public lands having no clue what we were doing. the next year we drew again, bought a few decoys and found a cool farmer that lets us set up in his field. We all shot limits. We didn’t use a blind, just hid ourselves a bit with some grass and sat still. The guide setups we saw were impressive and I’m sure they have really high success, but it’s definitely a very doable diy hunt. It’s a ton of fun, we drew tags this year after striking out a couple years

There are a handful of deer hunts that are classified “restricted muzzleloader “, looks like those extra restrictions apply. Regular muzzleloader hunts basically just no smokeless powder or scopes

I had a muzzleloader tag in nm last year, and scopes are prohibited. I was using 209 primers and sabots… I was checked by game and fish and was all good. I’ll have to read up on it but I wasn’t aware of further restrictions for this year

I don’t really see the accomplishment in having 1 of 30 friends spot a buck for me to shoot. Maybe it’s just me…. I want to find the area myself, I want to pack in myself, I want to spot the deer myself, I want to stalk and shoot it myself, I want to break down and pack out the deer myself, and I want to process the meat myself. Of course if I’m with my brother or a buddy, we will help each other.To me, that’s what hunting is all about. Those are all aspects of what makes hunting what it is to me, and I take pride in how I go about every aspect. Each of those parts of hunting is equally important to me, and sacrificing any of those to have an army of helpers just to try to make sure I fill the tag, I’d personally feel no satisfaction in hunting that way

They both look god awful in this debate… one is worse though. Almost no substance to anything they’re saying. Sad that our country will be in either of these guys hands really…

I have tensor regulators on my pioneer 1000-5. About 1400 rough miles on them, no complaints

A season like asu’s and Arizona losing in the sweet 16 isn’t much of a pendulum swing… yeah I wish Arizona made it further, potential for more left on the table, disappointing for sure. But sweet 16 is respectable even though it’s about the minimum expectation for a good team,even though we always hope for more. when’s the last time asu made a sweet 16?

I think it’s a very likely tag to draw with 5 pts but the way things are going it might not be guaranteed… just thought I’d point that out. Other than that it sounds like you answered your own questions! Only bad thing about that hunt is about 2/3 years it’s still hot out. 33 is as good a unit as any

Not a guaranteed tag at 4 points. Just like basically all the southern units, there are good bucks to be found if you’re willing to put in the work

It was a tough year for us too, very strange deer movement this year. But the deer are doing just fine
