Swaro hds are the best of those three hands down. To my eyes, the hd meopta are a little sharper then the non hd swaros, but the non hds stay sharper to the edges and are slightly better in low light

That last post describes me too. I admit, I've had times where I've teetered on putting way too much stock into the size of the antlers. But now in my old age (just turned 30) I've come full circle to being the only judge of my hunting that I care about. Only I know if I've put the work in, done so ethically, and if ill be happy and satisfied with the animal I try to take. Some days that might mean pursuing 100"+, some days that might mean a forky after 20+ days trying to stalk into range with my bow. I can honestly say I value the hunt and getting close more then the kill itself. Same goes for methods of hunting, but thats a whole nother conversation...

Anybody by chance have the list of leftover tags from last year?
-
Same kind of scenario with me, should be pretty much guaranteed draw....

Anybody get hit that uses bank of America? I'm getting a little worried!

I haven't read it very carefully yet, but from what I did read it sounds like a whole bunch of bad news to me

Razor 8.5x50 for sale.these are the non hds. Just sent them to vortex to get them freshened up and they replaced the glass and cleaned them. They look 100% brand new. They have all new eye cups and lens covers. I'm selling because I backpack hunt and decided to go with something a bit smaller to save a little weight.Asking 500 obo, and I'm open to trades for other binos. Located in Tucson. 520-991-8284

Final drop,then I'll just keep them. $400

I can text pictures if anyone wants. Thanks!

Anyone know what a good price for those old non hds razors? Is 500 a smokin deal? How do they compare to the hds?I'm looking at some online, wondering if I should pull the trigger

Just recently bought some 15x56 slc hds, and I'm looking into some 8x42 to carry around my neck and for close scanning. I'm looking for a mid to low range pair for now, $400 tops. I've had vipers in 12x and I liked them, didn't love them but I can get new 8x for $350. I've thought about some cabelas intensity too,but that would be a total shot in the dark. Didn't like the zeiss terra. Any other suggestions in my price range? Must be tripod mountable as well. no, i can't save for swaros this year. Good warranty is a huge plus. Thanks in advance!

Yeah I might try some 8x42 intensity, seems like a low risk buy. From what I've read, they should at least be better then diamondbacks
-
You have the intensity red sparky? Or has anyone looked through them?

I just upgraded to swaro 15x56s and my vortex ssp handled my 12x's fine, but is just too shaky with any breeze with the 15s. So I thought I'd ask, what tripod do you guys use? I backpack hunt,so weight is a big consideration. I'm looking for 1)dosent vibrate, even in decent wind 2) weighs as little as possible 3)obviously,the less costly the better, hopefully in the $250 or less range.... I'm looking forward to some great suggestions from people who hunt like I do. Thanks in advance!

With the eldx and a vais brake on mine it barely kicks at all.... I don't know the numbers on it,but to me,the felt recoil is less then half of my much heavier .270 rifle. Great shooting rifle too,by the way!

backpacking tents.... what are you guys using?
dustin25 replied to 1denogean's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I've been using a kelty salida the last couple years. I'm sure it's not as high tech as some more expensive tents, but I think I paid around $100 for it. I can attest for it being able to stand up to harsh weather, and it breathed well during the October hunt last year when it was 95 out. Also, it is as light as most comparable tents regardless of price, which was a big deal to me.I believe it weighs 4 lbs how I have it. Gotta say, great tent especially if you're on a budget.I'd buy it again.
