I can’t say I’ve run into that problem, at least enough to notice

I have a big Agnes lost ranger 15. It weighs 3,5 lbs in the long version, so it’s not super light. But I’ve had it in the teens and been cozy, and most importantly it’s roomy, I can roll around in it or sleep on my side knees bent. It’s relatively cheap compared to a lot of the higher end stuff too, I wanna say I got it for under 200 on a discount website

Cool buck! No need to defend yourself over how you decide to hunt. I personally have just as much respect for the guy who shoots the spike for the meat as I do for the guy who holds out. People forget what huntings all about too much these days. ive decided that if any of my kids decide to hunt, their first deer will be very small. Mine was a spike, and it instilled an appreciation in me that I’m still grateful for. Seems like your approach is working just fine too!congrats!

It’s not that I didn’t believe you, I was just wondering why toprut and your site say different odds... it might be toprut, I have come across a couple that I know are off. Probably best to cross reference if possible

This sounds like a smarta$$ answer, but it’s not. They live from the foothills to the top of the mountains. And they will be rutting at all elevations,they don’t really move up or down in any numbers that I’ve noticed a difference. They might drop lower on the hills or ridges to find more doe though

Plus keep in mind, probably only about 70% of the 18s field of view is gonna be sharp, versus basically 100% of the swaros. So you’re really looking at usable field of view about half of the swaros fov.Just my opinion,I’m sure someone will dispute me...

1/2 gallon per person per day is the Absolute minimum I take if there is no water source to filter,and i was trying to stay as light as possible. 1 gallon per day per person is ideal.

I seem to know of at least 1 or 2 every year shot by guys that definitely never post them online, that are among the biggest killed for sure. But they’re the type that don’t get caught up in that nonsense. One friend of mine is as successful a coues hunter as there is, and shoots bucks in the 99.9 percentile more consistently then anyone I’ve ever seen. With a bow usually. And he’s never even given 2 craps about what they score... theyre still out there!
