Teamwork and spotting/guiding a shooter in on a buck

I agree with what you’re saying, but by your argument, didn’t your radio become that same crutch, keep you from developing post shot tracking skills etc? -
I think no smokeless powder in muzzleloaders solves this

Get bushnell legend m. Trust me. Blows the low end vortex out of the water. Glass is better then the vipers even. Seriously!

Definitely a very nice 3x3! Congrats

There’s still leftovers in 29 and 30b for the ham hunt, if he’s thinking that soon

I’m guessing it’s a 3x3

I made a poor shot on a buck in 34a on Saturday morning, tracked him a long ways but eventually lost the blood trail. Went back Sunday and Monday, and was able to pick up more of his trail Monday, but again lost it. so on the LONG shot that anyone here comes across a dead buck that was hit high and back in 34a, I’d forever owe ya one! my best guess is he was approximately in the 95-105” range. thanks and good luck to all those out there!

Just an update, I found him a couple days ago still alive, but he was in Pretty bad shape.even took video of him. There were lion tracks following his after I hit him, I have no idea how he could’ve shook a lion but he did. Must be the toughest deer in southern az. Was able to get within 100 yards before I lost him in the mesquites.Still can’t see how he can make it very long, but he’s proven me very wrong to this point. Pretty crappy feeling to be responsible for wounding any buck like that, especially a big Old Buck like him, 105”+.All I can do is learn from my mistakes and try not to let this happen again, but I do realize this can be a part of bow hunting. maybe he’ll prove me wrong again and I can try for him next season, but I doubt it.

Ask lance, it seems like he’s the local expert

So he poached a few deer and a bear, but not the power line buck. Got it!

I have a big Agnes lost ranger 15. It weighs 3,5 lbs in the long version, so it’s not super light. But I’ve had it in the teens and been cozy, and most importantly it’s roomy, I can roll around in it or sleep on my side knees bent. It’s relatively cheap compared to a lot of the higher end stuff too, I wanna say I got it for under 200 on a discount website -

What requirements to be considered a HAM pistol?
dustin25 replied to WhtMtnHunter's topic in Handgun Hunting for Coues Deer
I’ve just never pictured a handgun hunt as an ar with a shorter barrel, that’s all. If it’s legal it’s legal. But let’s be honest, that’s not a handgun.... -

They seriously consider that a pistol for hunting purposes? Haha geez -
Where are you located?

Cool buck! No need to defend yourself over how you decide to hunt. I personally have just as much respect for the guy who shoots the spike for the meat as I do for the guy who holds out. People forget what huntings all about too much these days. ive decided that if any of my kids decide to hunt, their first deer will be very small. Mine was a spike, and it instilled an appreciation in me that I’m still grateful for. Seems like your approach is working just fine too!congrats!

It’s not that I didn’t believe you, I was just wondering why toprut and your site say different odds... it might be toprut, I have come across a couple that I know are off. Probably best to cross reference if possible
