Great buck , Bill!! A No Brainer.... regaurdless of score!!! Kinda currious, your post makes me wonder if they scored that split on the left off of the beam?? It appears to have a common base and would have to be scored off the beam if so..... just currious. It was scored off the beam. My next quest is to find a decent cape, his might be too damaged. --Bill

I made the trip to Albuquerque Saturday and had my buck officially scored. I did learn that with irregular points there are definite variables in scoring, but I am freakin' thrilled. He is being entered as a non-typical, grossing 113 7/8" with a net of 112". Now it's time to start looking for a perfect little basket rack. --Bill Talk about calibrated eyeballs.... Tyson and Josh knew it all along. on a side note, the Sitka Blacktail I took in '07 made B&C also.

Wow, I wish a Black Widow was higher up on my "need" list. But the Swarovski 15's are on top. --Bill -
I have a pair of the Meindl Denali boots with 400gr thinsulate for the cold weather, and a pair of the Meindl Perfekt 7" that are unisulated for everything else. Great boots, I always wear a sock liner with them and have never had a problem. --Bill

Very nice, and that you found the matching set with your son makes it better. --Bill

I went out today near the house to see if some local muley's might be hanging around to leave me their antlers. Saw some does, but did glass up an old elk set. Glassing for sheds is as close as I can get to glassing for Coues'. Here's the first picture. Closer... Here it is... I found the match up on the hill above the one I glassed. Here's the set with my puppy Boone. I wish they could be Coues' sheds but all I find here are Elk and Muley. --Bill

Here is an article from a while ago about the Oryx in NM. I know there are a few more similar articles floating around. http://www.hcn.org/issues/213/10797 --Bill

After trying to figure out how you folks find deer by looking for eyeballs and nostrils, finding sheds is the next best thing. Here is one that might be a bit easier. --Bill

Saw a few 160" to 180" carp... --Bill

Very nice Paul, someday I'll try with a bow. Congrats, --Bill

Happy Birthday Doug. --Bill

Very nice. --Bill

Vini, The cat hunting is pretty good anywhere in NM, the Jemez is Zone F which consists of units 6 and 8 combined and is usually one of the first units to reach the closing quota. Seems like every time it snows everybody with a truck and longeared dogs is driving nonstop looking for tracks, and has all their friends out looking for tracks as well. Not many folks like to walk the dry ground up here. I'll send you a PM tonight. --Bill

Here is a pic of a kill from a couple years ago. Found it below my cabin the day after the season closed, the dogs had to leave this one alone. I've never seen one covered so meticulous as the javelina tjhunt2 found. We could still smell the cat. --Bill

Mesa Fatboy, I bet they are send the breeze a PM. --Bill

Very nice buck congratulations. --Bill

Probably an artsy lion that was afraid to leave any tracks. But the person that did that sure left plenty of footprints around the fresh rake marks. Time to start thinking about how you are going to dish out a bit of payback. --Bill

Wow, sorry for you to post this thread. Sometimes I might do something a bit skeptical in life, but I sure won't post it on the net. I hope you find the deer, but you sure are a better shooter than I, I would never think of shooting over 40 yards with a bow. But I have no experience because... Well I guess. . . I guess I'm just not that greedy. --Bill

I think you'll like them, I do like mine. I just really need to get the Swaro 15's so I can stop buying glass. --Bill

To bad your in NM for me I would love to have an old Bronco and maybe we could have worked something out It's only 10 hours away one way, sure we can work something out. I really really need to welcome a new pair of 15's to the house. --Bill

I have a pair of the 12x50 Predators, I really like the size and weight. To me they were a step up from my Monarch 10x42 ATB's, but they sure aren't Swaro's. I used the 12's literally side by side with the Swarovski 15's on my late November coues hunt, what a difference. I'm trying to sell my '70 Bronco so I can get some Swaro 15's of my own. --Bill
