Doug is correct, it was last May at Abiquiu in NM. It is only an hour from here so we go there every chance we get after getting tired of picking up antlers, and get our fill of turkeys. Great place to take the kids, they will always hook up some 'eyes. --Bill

I have that DVD up at my cabin, I'll have to look again. Keep the stories and pictures coming. --Bill

I really like the Leopards, I used to hunt Camus Curs which are 1/2 leopard. Real good dogs and handle like a dog should, they hunt for you, not themselves. Attached is a pic of my 10 month old dog Boone. I got him from Randy Oller in Northern CA. Take care, --Bill

300ultramag, Congratulations, you have received an awesome gift. Enjoy every second, there is nothing in the world like being a parent. Unfortunately there is nothing in the world that will make you grow older faster than being a parent. Good for you. Bless you and your family, --Bill

Too many elk in the area I wanted to really search, I didn't want to move them out of the country. I just hope nobody else does either. If they do... oh well just have to find them again. --Bill

Just my luck, great price, not a good time. --Bill

Doug & Amanda, I sure appreciate the effort you folks go through every year putting your time and effort into this contest. I'm glad I don't have to try to narrow it down, it's all good. Thanks, --Bill

My son and I just use his 870 20 gauge with a turkey choke, and shoot high brass #6 out to 30 yards. (it's a lot lighter than carrying a big 12 loaded with 3 1/2" magnum loads all day). The gun has a matte finish, so we don't worry about camo. We use the same gun for dove, quail, & grouse (when we can't find a rock or stick to hit them with). --Bill

I e-mailed Clay at Mogollon and his capes are spoken for, but it wouldn't hurt to check. Don't want to hi-jack your thread azcoues, so the search continues. --Bill

I was wondering about that. --Bill

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh..... uuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm....... What can be said, . That is numbing. There had to have been more calcium on that head than inside the skin. What a beautiful job. Your Taxi surely understood the place of that buck. Good for you. --Bill By the way what county in Illinois did you get him?

Great buck , Bill!! A No Brainer.... regaurdless of score!!! Kinda currious, your post makes me wonder if they scored that split on the left off of the beam?? It appears to have a common base and would have to be scored off the beam if so..... just currious. It was scored off the beam. My next quest is to find a decent cape, his might be too damaged. --Bill Clay @ Mogollon Taxidermy just took the capes from us off our Jan. bucks.... Mine was a 101" buck with good bases and a really rusty forehead.... Bet you could buy that off of him or better yet you won't be soory if you have him mount that Bad Boy for you! Thanks for the info on the cape, that is a good looking buck, I checked out your thread on the bowhunting link. I called Clay and left a message about getting a cape, I do my own taxi work. Thanks, --Bill

Here is a close up, I know the rock is a bit in the way, but it's shielding some ballistic tip effects. Officially scored 2/7/09 113 7/8". My friend Tom Argyros (the breeze) talked me into putting for AZ coues' this year and I was lucky enough to draw. With gas being what it was and having family obligations I wasn't able to get out in October to scout so we headed to 36B 3 days before the hunt to scout. Tom had a hunt in a different unit so he pointed us to a few spots he would hunt if he had a tag for that unit. Opening morning found us glassing does and spikes, and listening to vehicles all over the place after about 3 hours we decided to go away from the crowds and see what might be deeper. Spotted a decent buck going over a ridge so we waited a bit then followed, and saw 3 bucks and a doe starting to bed down in some thick trees. My friend Michael and I contoured around to get closer and when we looked over the ridge we ranged the buck bedded at 253 yards. I was going to try to shoot the buck bedded but the doe saw us and got infront of the buck I wanted. I put the cross hairs on him and when the doe cleared he stood up and fell right back down into his bed. I had no idea how big this deer was until I got to him, he certainly didn't suffer from any ground shrink. I will be getting him green scored tomorrow, I have a general idea but will wait to say, what do you guys think? The next day we returned to the same area and a pretty good sized lion was eating the gut pile, neither of us had a lion tag, and the pics didn't come out. Here's another picture for Amanda... I couldn't have done this without Tom bugging me to put in for a tag, and was glad to be able to share the hunt with my good friend Michael. Sorry not much of a story, still in shock....... Thanks for looking, --Bill
