What a nice looking litter, bet you wish you could keep them all. --Bill

Hunter4life, That's a real nice picture, thanks for sharing. Someday I'd like to hunt the NM bigger whitetails. --Bill

Here is a link to a nice plus sized whitetail poached in NM. http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/publicatio...mintonplea.html --Bill

Odocoileus Nevadanus Mostely found in and around 'Vegas, Tahoe, Reno, and Pahrump. --Bill

To be honest with you Doug, I have no idea why/how NM G&F comes up with any of their changes. But I do know that if you don't like it this year, just wait 'til next. It will be completely different, every year it's like hunting in a different state. --Bill

Oak, It's a Coues' deer, just get yourself a package of tortillas and eat it on your way home. --Bill
-
I've been interested in them as well. --Bill

Reno sounds like a good time. I'll have to wait until after Christmas to order your book, I'm really looking forward to adding it to my collection. --Bill

2006 Kodiak Alaska Trip
WFGinNM replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Kodiak is a great place. Someday I will go back. --Bill -
OK, who left the gate open at Monster Muleys?? --Bill

I just like being in different country than I have here. Southern AZ is really amazing in the cool of late fall. --Bill
-
That is excellent Courtney. Thank you for sharing your hunt with us, what a cool adventure. --Bill

Very nice Tommy, Congrats to your son on his first Eastern and with some classic Southwestern yardage. Your friends buck is quite a brute, hope to hear the story. Good job, --Bill
-
Awesome. Beautiful deer in some rugged country. Congrats to both of you, Dan that first buck is what I dream about in a typical Coues', the brows on the 2nd are daggers. --Bill
-
I could probably do it on my Photobucket account if needed. My email is wfgorman@live.com. --Bill

TJ, I hope everything works out for you. Saying that it's a bummer about the hunt would be a huge understatement. A couple years ago I had a friend visit for a cow hunt. Three hours before I was supposed to take him the airport in ABQ. I woke up with the worst "gas pain". Another friend of ours took him to the airport and after about 4 hours my Wife didn't have to try too hard to get me to the Emergency Room. Turns out I had a perforated Appendix. Not fun. Hope you get to feeling better, --Bill

Glad you had a good time, looking forward to the update. --Bill

Very nice buck, and welcome to the site. --Bill
-
He frequents MM, you might be able to find him there. --Bill

You might want to look farther south. There could be some towards the south end of the Butte, maybe check with some of the farmers around Hatch. I have seen some out past Hillsboro. Good luck, --Bill

Rifle Kick....looking for suggestions for next rifle
WFGinNM replied to Redman's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
"ain't it kinda sick to bruise stuff to death?" LOL !!! Just sprayed coffee. That cracked me up. --Bill -
I hunt to be happy, if I wake up happy, hunt with good friends, and bust my butt. I let the animal at the time dictate if I shoot or not. I hunt Coues' to soak up the experience (and not have to carry out something that weighs more than me). I don't know that I could hunt Coues' and say " it's for the meat", there isn't that much meat (although it's darn good). I do know that the next time I hunt Coues' it WILL be for a nice typical. Until it steps out in front of me I'll go with that. --Bill

Pretty cool that you got an answer back so quick, in NM we wouldn't even be able to get in touch with the right person for months. I suppose that if you took a frontal shot at it you'd be alright. Any other shot be careful you don't hit any "wolf blood". Thanks for sharing the pictures. --Bill

Careful that sounds a little like guantanamo and you know we can't be treating criminals like that. Is it 8 Seconds where they tie the guy up to the fence and pull his pants down with a young calf on the loose??? Cowboy Way, with Kiefer and Woody. (a bit ashamed that I know that). --Bill
-
The first shot should tell you right where to put the second. --Bill
