"NEW" Wildlife Conservation License Plate
WFGinNM replied to Knifeboy's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I was looking at the NM plates for my new truck, and this is the best they have. I am getting one, I just can't stand the standard plate with the balloon. That AZ plate sure is nice. --Bill -
A little AC/DC and somethings is going to die. --Bill

I'll be adding this one to my new truck also. If I can only remember which hunting book I put it in to keep it safe. --Bill

POW Island would be nice for a really big Sitka. I'm still trying to figure out how to get back up to Kodiak. --Bill

Doug, It's full fee when you apply this year. "Full Fee Up Front Anyone applying for any public draw deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, oryx, ibex, javelina or Barbary sheep license, MUST pay the full license and application fee when applying." --Bill
-
I've been looking for something like that. Too bad I live so far away. What is the make and model? --Bill

If you are going to put in for Oryx this year, the application deadline is a week from tomorrow. --Bill

As you know, the PA Whitetail is a great hunt. One of my Favorites is Archery Rut, last week or 2 of the bowhunt. Cheap, and plenty of antlerless tags to be had. You could probably do that hunt and send all that cornfed meat home for less than the Oryx trip. San Carlos would be real tempting also. I wish I had this problem. --Bill

One Turkey Bag Limit Units – Use of First Spring Turkey Tag Spring turkey hunters may take only one turkey in Units 15, 16, 21, 22, 23 and 24. The first spring turkey tag shall ONLY be valid in the above units. Turkeys tagged with a 2nd Spring Turkey Tag in any of these Units are tagged improperly and are subject to seizure. Two Turkey Bag Limit Units – Use of Second Spring Turkey Tag Spring turkey hunters may take two turkeys in the open portions of Units 4, 5, 6A, 6C, 7, 9, 10, 12-14, 17, 18, 20, 29, 32-34, 36-49 and 51-59. The first spring turkey harvested may be tagged with either the first or second turkey tag in these units. However, the second turkey tag cannot be used to tag a turkey in those Units with a one turkey bag limit (15, 16, 21, 22, 23 or 24). Hope this helps, --Bill -
Travis, Great pictures. A Pintail drake, that is awesome... and a band with it. That is awesome. I used to hunt all over NM for a Pintail like that and never had the chance. Awesome, --Bill

I use my 2200 for longer trips. It's so thick in some of the areas I go that a pack frame catches on everything. I'm thinking about getting a Badlands Ultraday for the shorter trips, on these trips I bungee the antlers together and just use a shoulder strap. --Bill

All the Antelope I saw this weekend had already shed, and are starting regrowth. --Bill

Great pictures and story Amanda, looks like they have to fence the turkeys out. --Bill -

Vinny, It is a cow and one was 36", and I believe the other was 35 5/8". I'm pretty sure it was the 2nd year they had hunts on the Oscura Range (now the northern part of Rhodes Canyon hunt). It was the first time I applied, and cheap. --Bill

Hope everyone has a good and safe New Years Eve. I'm spending it with my wife in Ontario, Oregon sitting out blizzard at a Holiday Inn Express. Drove 300 miles today at 30 to 45 mph. Time for a beer. --Bill

Happy Birthday Mike, I hope you have a great weekend. --Bill

No points, but you have the same chance at drawing as a resident. I'm sure glad I got my Once-in-a-lifetime when it was only $36.00. --Bill

I've been on Rhodes a few times for Oryx. Not near as much as some folks, I've just never been an Oryx junkie like some. It has never been a real hard hunt, (although some will have different opinions). I'd be glad to offer any help I can in your planning or glassing. --Bill
