That's what I did on my pack trip for pigs this year! 30 min after he was dead he was boned out . It was cool the day I killed and the meat was cool to the touch as I was bagging it. Never gutted it just hung it skinned it de-boned it done! Did it to save on weight to walk the five nasty miles back to the truck but no matter where I kill one from now on, if sunlight permits, I will do this every time. Easy peezy. Gotta bring that foot out but nothing else unedible.

I switched to the carter insatiable 2 and never looked back. Many positives not many negatives. Love being able to clip it on the string and still have my right hand free for whatever I need without the wrist release hitting everything. Easier for back tension, at least for me anyways. Pricey but worth it.

Elk bring out the worst in some people some times. Hunted it a bunch look at onion mtn, ash creek, pine flat. All are tough areas to hunt but it sounds like you want it that way. I always see elk in these spots when I go in there and a cow shouldn't be a problem. Scout a bunch and you will do fine.

I bought my wife a savage 111 lightweight hunter in 6.5 creed. What bullet choice would you guys recommend? . I need to go factory as I don't reload. Yet. She is looking to hunt deer pigs etc. I bought some 120 gr a-max to sight in with and hunt pigs in three weeks. I would like to end up shooting 140s with a high bc so i can get the cds turret from leupold for the finished load. I have read mixed reports of how the a-max performed on animals. What experience do y'all have and what would you recommend? Thanks in advance. Eric

I use their stuff as well. I have been doing a lot of backpacking lately and I definatly notice a difference. Is it better than other product lines? Idk but it's owned by a hunter and it's for hunters so they get the nod. While the energy/focus and hydrate/recover otherwise known as a " superman " when combined may not be " all natural "But it's a he'll of a lot better and safer than energy drinks! And cheaper per drink!

I have the icon 5200. Nice pack! Great for 2-3 day trips. Not sure its goona work for 5-7 days tho. I am looking at kifaru and stone glacier for my next pack, but no complaints on the 5200.

If you drove the hwy from Bagdad to Kirkland jct, minus the private thats posted there are a bunch of herds right along the hwy! One of my favorite herds to hunt are found by climbing a hill in the wrong unit and looking across the hwy. if you have a quad the get to Scott's basin and shoot one! Pretty easy there as well as the mesas off of fr260.

Azgfd will never make any changes where they loose money, period. They have proven that time and time again, so I don't see a draw coming unless the tags # are incredibly high like the rifle hunts. There are lots more bow hunters out there and getting good at shooting 50-100+ yards only takes about a month of practice with the type of tech that is out there. Talked to a guy just this weekend that was talking about all the shoots he has taken from 70-90 yards this year alone. He said eventually he will kill a deer,and he is right! I mean how hard is it to get 100 yds to a rutting buck? Guys, there are far more guys that are " anything goes" when it come to tech than not, so i dont see this trend ending till the resource is depleated. However, for this year, I think that antler growth for deer was a little better than average. So more big deer have been seen which means more big deer killed. Can't overlook the power of social media in getting the word out making it appear more critters getting killed.

Slick tricks for me. Fly awesome to 80yds, I love em, the animals I shoot hate em but only for a very short amount of time!

So I want new top end boots. Lowa, crispi, scarpa, asolo, zamberlin, hanwag etc. is there anyplace in town that Carries these? I know cabelas has meindle and Sportsmans has kenetrek. Kenetrek just doesn't fit my feet and with the cost of these boots and the fact that some just won't fit right I would like to " try before I buy".

Far from it amigo! Look at all the drama that is caused by cameras. We will read a story some day about an incident where someone gets hurt or killed over a camera or a spot where a camera is and then changes will be made anyway. Every year it gets worse! Not gonna get into a back and forth on this cause I'm not gonna change your mind and you won't change mine. Happy hunting and be safe out there!!

Well, since you asked, I need some extra cash for the 10,000 cameras I have and as many blinds and tree stands so I can claim all the good hunting spots! It's really not about the hunt for me, just all the giants I kill for the wall and so everyone will think I am some kind of hunting god!! No Obama phone tho, I would rather brag that I only use a $2k sat phone! Of course I only use it a few days a year to to my awesome ability as a hunter and my "scouting"!!

Oops I mis read your post. For legs I just use big Bogen legs. Heavy,yes, but stable for 30x.

Which docters do you have? I have the 30x big eyes and the 701 manfrotto head works great! A bit heavy but it needs to be for the weight of the glass.

Outlaw cameras on public land and these issues go away!!!! Just saying

I am all for it!! Soon I will be able to fly a drone and put out a 1000 cameras that send back pictures of the giant I am gonna shoot with a 1400 yd shot from my 75k truck while I sit my fat a$$ in a comfy couch and brag on the Internet about how bad a$$ I am at hunting and that you all should be like me!!!
