Go to the end of that one road that is real rocky. Park, the go right, nah, left and walk to you see a tree that is kinda green with some bluish berries on it. Don't eat em. See the hill to the south? Don't hunt there, look to the hill west of it, sure is a nice looking hill huh? Nothing lives there either just thought I would share some great scenery. Now if you can find a tree next to some brush with a few large rocks nearby you are close. Sit Down and get out you binoculars, use them to burn ants. (yes it can be done). Heck it has been so long since ive been to this spot now I'm lost but if you wander around yelling for help you are bound to kick something up to shoot! Thats is what I did and had a great hunt, didnt fill a tag but i think i was due to the fact that i put the scope on my gun right before the hunt by myself. Guess I shoulda scouted more... Oh well.

    Is this a set?

I could be wrong but I've been told that if in doubt to look at the bottom part of the pedicel and see if they are the same or very close. On the sets I have found the shape or bumps on the bottom of the pedicel are very similar. Try that.

Toyota Tundra Owners..... Yea or nay

Like I said I have owned em all. Domestic gas, diesel, 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton. If american trucks were made as good I would go back in a heartbeat but they aren't. I am hard on trucks and even my friends that have domestics comment how much they like my tundra. The front ends are way overbuilt and are sized like a 3/4 ton. Don't take my word for it go look for yourself. Can they pull like a diesel? Heck no... Do they have the mph of the eccoboost? Nope. But they are tough with good amount of creature comforts and handle amazing even with a lift. If you check it out most of the tundras are actually made here in America. They are a solid truck period. To be fair I will point out a couple flaws. Mpg isn't great, paint is a little thin and chips easy and interior plastics can scratch/ show a different color. I have a black interior and scratches show a blueish color. I've got 140,000 on mine, 2010 and it's going strong. Only standard pm stuff, I am going to replace the hubs this year but that is due to the lift and that is on me and how I drive it. You won't have buyers remorse!!!!
  6. Any of the open patterns are fine. Camo is mostly over-rated. It has it's use when your close but if you move and they see the movement they are gone!

Toyota Tundra Owners..... Yea or nay

+1000 on the tundra. I have owned em all and I don't ever see me driving anything but a tundra. Tough truck! Mine has a 6" lift with 35s and still drives awesome unlike most lifted trucks. If you are towing a lot you may want to wait for the diesel. Mine tows the rv ok just likes to stop at every station on the way! And hey it's a Toyota..... It will run forever!!!!!!

    Waited 17 years

Contact landowners quickly! Some limit how many they let on and some are one at a time in order they call. I killed on this hunt and it was fun but the private property was tricky at first.
  11. Replied to your pm 6a. Ask away as your scouting progresses. I will help you out as much as I can.
  12. Cameras in wilderness area may not be legal. As far as theft... You aren't in Washington anymore... If someone finds your stuff odds are it will be stolen or vandalized. Just the way it is in Az, antlers make some people loose their minds.

    Unit 10

My advice is to get in your truck and go drive around the unit. It is a big place! The BO is closed till right before antelope season, which is where I would be if I had a tag but you got to pay to play on that ranch. But there is a ton of dirt you can look at till you can access the BO. Maybe you will find a great spot to hunt that's not on the BO, they do exist! I have hunted Or guided in 10 for over 20 yrs so as you scout and have more questions just ask. I no longer guide as the drama and the BS didn't make it fun anymore so I have no problem giving up some info for the DIY guy. Good luck.
  14. Jay, this guy is a fool. Haters will hate. This one will hide after an attack so put no weight on a single thing he says. Keep up the good work and just ignore this#%$!@.

    Leveling Kits

Don't trust the truck computer. Do the real math to get your real mph. Fill up, zero the odometer, fill up again then do the math. It might not be as bad as the computer says it is... Mine was wrong.

    Leveling Kits

Sounds close. I went from stock to level kit and 33s and lost about 2-2 1/2 mpg. Then I went to a 6" lift with 35s. Two things I will say..... Truck looks great and loves all gas stations! I have to take out a 2nd mortgage if I tow the rv. This is on a tundra. You gotta pay to play I guess.

    Women's Cartridge

Check out a 280ai... Recoil is light and ballistics are very close to a 7mm. I love mine and the 140accubonds fly great and kill things up to moose very well. My very small framed kids 9,11 shoot it and love doing it! . Just a caliber not mentioned that is worth looking at.

    unit 10

All huntable ground in 10 needs to be looked at. There are goats everywhere except in the steep places. there is a very good goat that lives on Forrest land but he is a tree buck and almost never leaves the thick stuff. Fun hunt good luck!!

    Need Help (Hunting Clothes Layering)

Check out Eddie Bauer guide pants. A touch lighter than the attack pants but over half the price. A bit stretchy and articulated knees make these my go to pants. Not camo but the tan and grey colors blend good. Camo is overated except if your bowhunting anyways. Material and fit is way more important the any camo. Two layers of merino a 125 weight and a 210 weight with a down puffy jacket and good head cover is about all I use up top. Drys fast except the puffy. If its raining then I have some lightweight stuff for layering over. This is what I use for backpacking and worked well during the storm jan 1st this year. Exofficio underware and darn tough socks and you should be good. Good luck..

    Wolf In Snowflake?

From what I've seen the recovery area is i40 to i10 so if it was a wolf it was in the right area. Probably looking for dog food like it was raised on when it was born in a cage. Some dogs never learn to hunt.

    2015/2016 Hunt Recommendations

From what I heard it was about spreading hunters out. But I may not have the whole story. I think it may be some sort of test to see if this ups the hunter success as well, JMO. The spots where I hunt it doesn't matter how many tags there are I almost never see hunters on whitetail hunts. But spots where I hunt family and friends seem to be very crowded but that's cause they can't physically go as hard as I do. I think it may be a good idea but we will see over time I guess.

    2015/2016 Hunt Recommendations

21 will happen just wait. Personally I would like to see some units go back to the way it used to be, modified, to see how it works with today's environment. First hunt, lots of tags but only 4 days, next hunt much fewer tags but 7 days, next hunt fewer tags still but 10 days , last hunt stays the same as it is now. Guys would be able to pick hunts based apoun personal reasons and choices. Guys want to just hunt and get first crack and can only hunt one wknd..... First hunt.... A little cooler with good odds of drawing.... 2nd hunt. Third hunt is cooler but bucks have been hammered so more time and even fewer hunters as a kind of reward. Fourth hunt stays the same as the rut "trophy" hunt with crappy odds but a great hunt with low tags. Just thinking out loud... Maybe something to look at...

    ground blinds and turkey

not really required for archery either if you use decoys and decoys are a lot lighter then blinds. Very true when it comes to being mobile! Blinds tend to keep you locked down or very close to the truck. I've killed birds with a blind and without with a bow and if you like to roam around the just get after it and use decoys. For no blind sets I like to put the decoy about 20 behind me, I set up off to the side kinda between wher I expect the bird to come from and the decoy. IF the bird does what is expected, he walks by me strutting and when his head is hidden by his feathers I draw and shoot. Of course turkeys don't always have the same play book I have but it works enough to keep doing it!!!! If the bird is really into the decoys it is amazing how much movement you can get away with, dont do jumping jacks or anything, but they seem to get a bit of tunnel vision from time to time depending on their mood! Good luck! Turkeys with a bow is good time!!! My wife has a tag this year, her first, but we will be using a shotgun. Should be a fun and interesting hunt.

Such a shame what shed hunting as come to

No offense but they have that already that. Operation game thief. If you see something say something. Just this past deer season I called the Forrest service and OGT when some hunters were on quads in a closed area to motor vehicles. Got good response time and those fellers got citations and told to leave. Sometimes the system works.
