1k could easily build you a custom savage that is plenty capable of long range shooting. Stomp will chime in, and probably give you a pretty good breakdown of the parts and costs for a budget build.

I went with a ram 2500 with the new 6.4 litre Gas motor. I basically did this because of the upfront cost of a diesel and the price of fuel over the last 10 years. I will say that the oil change argument is not valid any longer. On my new pickup, it requires 7 quarts of synthetic oil and costs as much as a diesel oil change. Good thing I got 2 years of oil changes with it when I bought it. Having said all that, I could not be happier with the motor I have, but if I were to tow frequently, I would have went diesel.

I am with BC777 on this, all situations can be explained pretty easy. Also everyone needs to understand point creep. They do not tell you your odds this year, rather last year. What is not to say that more people put in for said unit and the odds go down the year you put in. After the draw report comes out for the previous draw, compare your points with actual results and I am sure it will all make sense. those who say they were " guaranteed" a tag should post their unit they applied for and how many points they had to solve their not being drawn. Screen shot of bonus points is always a plus!

Unless you have taken your stock roll cage off and replaced it with a strong roll cage, I would, at a minimum, have the kids wear a helmet. The stock roll cages are far from sufficient and bend rather easy.

I run a Kifaru Duplex frame and have a dt3 bag as well as the new Rambler. After using badlands and eberlestock for years, the difference is amazing. The load lifters are unreal! I have been using the DT3 for the last year or 2, but recently picked up the rambler because of the gun scabbard.

Why make a list of good guys?? The list will be smaller if you just call out the bad guys.... Most on here have easy smooth transactions. Lets not make this like ebay where you get a score based on your selling.

Have you shot any other brands? I much prefer a few other brands over PSE. Less hand shock and smoother draw cycles can be had.

Lancetkenyon- Are you sure you have that many points? I am pretty confident that you were 100% draw on 21 this year.

+1 on Turtle skins. They are the best out there IMO. As light as they come, and I believe puncture proof. ( I have yet to actually get a good test, and I hope I never do)
