Nice photo's. That 53 lber is a beast. I used to have the best luck using bluegill over carp, but I do not really think it matters. We used to do really well with 3 red shiner minnows stacked on one hook. When the minnows were big and fat, we knew we were in for a good night. I need to get back into it, I remember running the sein net up rapids and filling our minnow buckets that way.

RCBS Chargemaster question
HuntHarder replied to DesertBull's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have been really happy with mine, but I still check most charges with a balance beam scale. Seems the digital is almost always dead on. -
Any pics of the 53lber!?

Sucks that there always has to be some underlying negative story about every auction tag. Lots of jealousy in this world. True or not, I love that Jimmy John went hunting, shot a stud ram, and then posted it on social media for the anti's to complain about. To many celebrities or successful people have to try and hide their accomplishments so that negative publicity does not hit. That poor dentist who shot "Cecil" had his life ruined over his hunting trip.

PPU BRASS - WILL LOAD BUT NOT RE-LOAD AFTER FIRING
HuntHarder replied to Ace High Benny's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Sounds like you need to FL size -
I tried the financial hardship plea one time. They had no sympathy and still tried to make me go. I just ignored it and never heard another thing about it. Now that my work pays me to go to jury duty, sign me up haha.

Kuiu and Sitka are my 2 favorite camo's. They both breathe very well, and stretch with your movements. They are more of an "athletic fit" but you do not have to be in top notch shape to get a good fit. I am 5' 9" 175lbs and wear a large in uppers and 32" in lowers. I have been pretty impressed with most of the kuiu gear I have acquired.

"How did I live without it?" Hunting Gear

I would say one of my biggest upgrades has been my Kifaru backpack. It is amazing what a properly fitted backpack with superior load carrying capabilities will do for a guy. -
Looking at the rebate website, this particular scope may be excluded. Looks like they list almost every other HD5 except this model.
-
I tried to resist, but I also bought one. If the rebate works, which I do not see any reason it will not, The scope is less than $500.00. Thanks for the heads up

If you want the target turret, Kenton can make you an MOA turret for it or a load customized one. I think they run about 130$. Looks like maybe a $150.00 rebate on HD5 scopes as well.

Mine fell in love with the 4runner as well. We have had our '14 4runner for 2 years now with 0 issues. My only complaint is the lack of power in the v6, but it is perfect for her. I believe she is getting right around 20MPG too. -
EL 10x42, Nikon 82mm ED spotter and a Nikon Ed50mm spotter. Usually pack the 50 unless I know ahead of time that where I am hiking to is going to need the extra power of the 82mm ED.

I ended up with 2 of these, and have no need for 2, so I am selling the unopened brand new one. It is still sealed from the factory. I upgraded from my Leica CRF1200 last year to the Sig and I have been really happy. Super fast scan mode and I have been able to hit a freeway exit sign at over 2000 yards. $400TYD shipped or pickup in North Peoria.

Maybe, I am no pro, just my guess. I gave him 7" bases

SOLD

Geezz did that guy dip his horns in shoe polish? Has to be the shiniest set of horns I have seen. Low 70's is my guess.

LOL no more big bucks on fain. I can just about guarantee there will be more than one 80" buck, to be had on fain this year.

I would not hire a guide. I think that is the challenge of getting a great tag in this state. It is to often that people look at these tags as "once in a lifetime" and I have to kill 200" or bust. I enjoy the challenge of learning a new unit and setting personal goals. I want to kill a 200"er as bad as the next guy, but if I was guided it wouldn't be as sweet. I do not look down on guys that use guides, but for me, I would not. There are situations where a guy might not have the time to scout and a guide or scouting package would be a wise investment.

Which factory ammo to extend range/accuracy of my .270?
HuntHarder replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
No one can tell you what ammo is going to shoot well in your rifle. I would suggest you get a box of your 2 most wanted and see which one shoots best. Every bullet you listed will do well out to 500. The higher Bc bullets start to shine at longer distances >500. In factory ammo, I have had good accuracy with Federal premium and winchester supreme. -
Mid to high 80's

I had this tag last year for the first time, and we made the best of it. We went 3 for 3 on the first weekend but finding 70"+ deer was a challenge. Lots of deer, lots of people. With that said, I picked up the same tag this year and am planning on giving it heck again this year.

36a for me. Should be another fun trip down south.

Each person in 2014, pretty easy to get at the BLM office next to deer valley airport.

I too spent some time in 40B. As Notags said, he took a great ram in 2008, and then my hunting partner took a good ram in 2014. Lots of great rams in the unit. Pm me with any questions, and I will answer to the best of my ability. We spent a bunch of time in the unit during scouting trips and saw a bunch of good rams. Some of which should still be alive. Go get your Berry goldwater range clearance as soon as you can.
