Plenty of elk in 7E. You need to do a little homework, but a decent bull can be had with a little work. Check out north near the 9/7e boundary. Only a few spots to glass from but they can be productive with patience.

Highly recommend you get some devcon and bed it. Super easy to do, watch a couple youtube videos on bedding a scope rail.

My caribou rack and cape finally made it back from Alaska this week and I am trying to find a taxidermists to do the mount. I have mounts from various Taxidermists in Phoenix, but I can not decide on who I want to do the caribou. I guess I just have not seen to many of the local taxi's, show pics of Alaskan game, to see their work. If anyone has a caribou they had mounted and are happy with it, please let me know. Thanks guys

With technology comes new updated rules. It is just life. I like states that leave muzzleloaders primitive. Muzzleloader tags used to be high draw odds because it was harder to actually get an animal with them. Now the draw odds have gone to shoot because modern muzzleloaders with scopes are basically center fire rifles. Would be great if they opened a seperate archery season for recurves and stickbows.

both 5a and 6a early rifle cow were in the bonus point pass with 6 points last year. They were not a 100% but were in it. You'd be rolling the dice on whether or not your 1st choice gets looked at.

I would do 5a over 6a, just make sure you are not in the bonus point round for the cow hunt or you will have no chance at your 1st choice. You WILL get your cow hunt.

I have never had Clay do a mount for me, but many of my buddies have. His work looks fantastic and he is at the top of my list.

My buddies in ND absolutely slay the perch during ice fishing season. The pics I get, make me want to go back there in the winter even tho it is colder than witch's tit. Their Ice fishing shacks look amazing. I have never done it, but I imagine I would get addicted if I did.

in 2018 we caught so many perch in North Dakota it was crazy. I think we ate perch and walleye for 5 days straight. If you missed the hook set, 50% of the time you'd still snag a different perch in the belly. I wish we still had them here, when I was a kid, we caught some @ Stoneman, but it dried up probably 10-15 years ago and I haven't caught another in this state.

Get an inreach. Small price to pay for piece of mind. Always in touch with family and also have a button to push if you need emergency help

Are houndsmen good fist fighters? I thought they were just guys that run dogs. The fact that some guys think hounds dropped, means that any animal within 5-10 miles of them is theirs is absurd. I have followed behind hounds multiple times and understand the pace. I also understand the chance you take when you drop those dogs and they cover 5 miles fairly quickly. No different than bumping a deer over a ridge and he gets shot by another deer hunter. Just because I saw you parked 3 miles away and a deer comes running toward me from your direction, doesn't mean I am going to give it a pass. Different story if they have an animal treed and you go shoot said animal before the guys get there.
