I wonder how they figure out who is flying planes during hunts. I mean, it's legal to fly a plane, just can not use it for taking wildlife. It's like any other law they have to enforce. Lots will slip thru the cracks, some will be busted, the major offenders usually get caught or quit doing it.

Calling all Tikka Gurus!

Do you think the "average hunter" ( guys not on this site) use trail cams? I would venture to say most guys I know that I would call hobby hunters barely know what trail cameras do. A trail camera ban will not affect them at all. If anything, I would say it will hit the guide services the hardest, (atleast the ones that use then extensively) and next would be the guys that would be on hunting forums. The guys that put in for hunts and barely know what unit they put in for or do not even own a bow and put in for archery will not be affected negatively by a ban. As far as making then less elusive, you said a few posts back that there will be more pressure in the woods because of guides hiring college kids. Time will tell what the true outcome of this is. I await the actual language of the law ( if passed) to make an assumption on it's effectiveness. Fair chase is 100% a determination that the actual hunter has to make. With all the advancements in tech, there are lots of different opinions on it. Compared to 50 years ago, 3/4 of the shitt we use could be considered not fair chase. I see more and more states starting the trail camera ban talk and I have seen how it can negatively impact the sport, so I am ok with getting rid of mine. Small concession in the grand scheme of things. No doubt, over the next 10 years, there will be more and more regulations put into place on all aspects of hunting. With a dwindling resource and demand getting higher each year, concessions will have to be made to sustain.

Its not about killing the big ones, its about killing the big ones with some fair chase involved. Atleast those college kids are out in the field actually hunting. Those college kids are not going to see alot of those nocturnal bucks either. You and I, both know big bucks are hard to keep tabs on. They can travel miles in a day very easily. That college kid better be versed in big bucks to stay on him. Its not just about guides vs regular hunters either. I think some think that's what this ban is about, its more about giving the animals a little more elusiveness back. Hopefully lowering the success rate and letting some bucks slip thru the cracks. IMO, regular Joe hunters will have a harder time killing bucks. Thats kind of what its about.

Would anyone agree that just about every game law is very hard to enforce? The main reason is the lack of officers available to enforce the laws on the books. This is where your ethics come into play. In general, good people choose to follow the laws on the books, whether they 100% agree with them or not. My bow sight is not legal in a few states that I hunt, I choose to use a different sight when I hunt in those states. I have NEVER seen a warden, so I know that chances of me getting caught with my illegal sight there are very minimal, but they have laws and I choose to follow them. Same goes for my ML in other states, not all states allow scopes or some ignition systems. The whole unenforceable, so most will not follow the law is pure BS in my opinion.

Primitive ML seasons would be a great next step.

Desert Bowhunting without the illegals
HuntHarder replied to JimmyHat's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Thanks for the post! That is exactly what I suggested in another thread. I like the idea of mandatory harvest reporting within 48 hours. Adopting a system similar to bear and lion is exactly what needs to be done. I love it. I hope more sportsman get behind this and make our voices heard. If we stand quiet, we will lose OTC bowhunting in the next 10 years no doubt. -
Desert Bowhunting without the illegals

I can not get the link to the sportsmans group proposal to work. Anyone know the cliff notes? Something needs to change quickly or our deer herds are going to continue their rapid decline. Sucks, but I see OTC all but gone in the next 10 years. glass half full, it might make rifle draw odds considerably better. -
It's Antelope! You can literally glass them up from 10 miles away pretty easy. Plan on getting up there a week before your hunt to get the lay of the land. Good luck on your hunt.
-
I would 100% buy the access. You will regret not spending the 110$ if you are having a hard time locating a good antelope outside of the Bo. Why restrict your hunting area for such a small price? Seems like a no brainer for me.

I could give 2 shitts. If a guy feels good about shooting a high fenced giant, who the heck am I to tell him he can not. Shoot away. Not much different than hiring 3 guide services for the auction or raffle tags.

Sure wish I hunted Unit 1. I would gladly give you a solid camping spot. Do not let a few turds on here get you down. Someone will pm you a place to camp hopefully.
-
I would imagine it will be really easy to track these asswipes down. I am sure guys in that tourney know who volunteered to dispose of the fish.

Aluminum for the feed is ok. SRP and APS both use aluminum triplex to feed residential houses on the incoming service. Where Aluminum has it's problems is where it connects to outlets or switches.

Scale of 1 to i need to go buy them, how much do you love those NL's. I've spent only about 5 minutes behind them and did not have my 10x Els to compare. They looked awesome, but I'm trying to convince myself to just take the plunge.

hahahahaha, all this manbun talk on here and all everyone needs is 6.5 bullets LMFAO.

Mine took 8 hours yesterday at 225*. 5 hours on the grill, 3 hours wrapped on the grill. Pulled it at 198* wrapped it in towels and put it in the cooler. Ate 2 hours later and it was still too hot to touch when slicing. 8 hours sounds like too long to me but I've never attempted it, do im not sure. Maybe shred it or chop it and do sandwiches with it.

I love the hypocrisy of a lot of guys on this site. Hard core right wingers that do not want any more laws or rules, UNTIL they think they should be warranted. Remember when guys just had a little common sense and did not need big brother watching out for you on every move of your life. FFS do not wire money to bangladesh for some cheap swaro's. It's like, so many people's bullshitt meters no longer work because they haven't had to use them in so long. -
Did you read the rest of my post? Literally says they hunt a few select units and usually only during january.
-
That guy is a lump of shitt. His opinion is null and void since I doubt he hunts anything from his mom's basement.
-
Based solely on OTC tags issued, the non res make up about 10% of the total hunters on OTC deer. I think the reason it seems magnified is they concentrate in a few select units and also really only hunt January. Where I hunt in January, non residents are a non issue. Where I used to hunt near Wickenburg, the amount of non-res hunters has increased dramatically.

It's crazy how much politics and back door interests there are. So much dark stuff happens that no one knows about.
-
Gotcha! That sucks! Hopefully enough guys stand up and try and make a difference or we will continue on the same path we are on.
