There is no more restriction, unless you are hunting migratory birds

How's about a "Let's Bash The AZG&FD" section ???
HuntHarder replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in The Campfire
"Hoghunter" What ever happened to self accountability? Do you need game and fish to hold your hand thru the process of buying tags? Do not wait until the last minute, and all of your "problems" could have been solved. This goes for everyone who waited to long to figure out where they had to purchase a new tag for 2014. Come on over to the "right" side and quit relying on people to hold your hand thru the process. AZlance usually brings up pretty sound arguments against game and fish, you on the other hand sound like a big whiner!!! Go hunting! Enjoy life! It's too short to get all worked up over missing 1 day of hunting b/c of a ,once in the last 20 year, tag change over. Seems like most of your posts have been negative.. 26 is dirty with trash, people shooting across the desert, javelina are going to be shot out b/c of 2 harvest limit, too many donkeys, game and fish hates hunters, list goes on..... -

Bruno's in Phoenix usually has a good selection of powder, but be ready to get bent over on price. They are usually somewhere close to 38$ a pound on hodgdon. so yeah the 31.25$ a pound does not sound bad.

I used both for finding animals, What else do you use yours for? J/k . I much prefer 10's on a tripod over 15's, then scope if looking for bedded or determining what the animal is. Nothing like having to lug around 10's, 15's and a scope.

**Lets here your thoughts about new paper tags AND tags being withheld till jan1. :)
HuntHarder replied to hoghntr's topic in The Campfire
How long is the complaining about a different tag going to last? Adapt!!!!! It is not the end of the world. Go out and hunt! Notching the date of kill is a great idea and I am glad they did it. It is about time they catch up to other states. As far as the paper, Who gives a crap? When you go hunting, just like you make sure you have arse- wipe, make sure you have a zip lock bag and a tie. It is not rocket science.... -

How many animals have you harvested in Arizona
HuntHarder replied to Seldom Drawn's topic in The Campfire

This Paulsen sure has made a name for himself. I wonder what he spent everyone's money on? Does he have an addiction, was he living above his means?, serious illness? I think everyone deserves to get a valid explanation of where everyone's money is.

You did the right thing, Having the wind in your favor is my single most important thing I worry about when stalking deer. Their noses are phenomenal. Yes a rutted up muley will stink to high heavens. When you harvest one, you will know what I am talking about. They have a very noticeable, musky smell to them. Whether or not you did anything wrong or not, I would say, the only way you learn is to make mistakes. Sometimes, there is just nothing you can do, and other times you realize you made a crucial mistake during your stalk. Sometimes it is better to wait them out and hope they go your way, other times it is best to stalk right in on top of them. Keep the wind in your favor and judge each deer individually . There is no right or wrong answer as to whether to wait, or stalk in. Each situation dictates your action. Keep at it, and soon you will be successful.

Build a bridge!!! -
I have owned 15 swaro's, and they are nice binoculars, but I still find myself using my 10x42 el's considerably more. So much, that I got rid of the 15's. The image is just not as crisp, and no where near as bright. I doubt that 15 HD's will compare to the 10 hd's. Exit pupil is smaller = less light. I am curious to look thru them, but not expecting a dramatic change from standard 15's. Let me know what you think when they come in. I might consider changing my mind and buying another pair of 15's.

Am I wrong in that?: you are able to bait, just so long as it is removed 2 weeks prior to the hunt start?
-
Those donkeys are something else!! If they ever open a season on them, I will buy as many tags as they would allow. So destructive!!!!!!!! to the desert. They have pushed a few of my javelina herds to different hills.

What is the heaviest javelina you have taken hog hunter?

I would have thought for sure there was an employee at cabelas on this website. I guess I shall see when I go there this weekend
-
I just received a coupon in the mail to use at Cabela's that says I get employee pricing, but it does not say what their discount is. Does anyone know what their discount is? I know it varies based what item it is, and who makes it, but I would love to know the basic structure. Instructions say to just take your stuff to the register and they will give you the discount, but that makes it hard to spend a specific amount of money... Thanks,

shoot it without holding onto the forearm, and see if it still comes back after shot. It should release, but not throw the pump back automatically. If it does, you can go back to sportsmans, and they will help you send your firearm back to Winchester. If it was just bought, they will pick up the shipping charge as well.

Not smart to post that you killed a Javelina with an illegal method of take....

The guy above my post is a taxidermist, I would trust him. He pointed you away from himself for a reason. Most taxidermists specialize in either big game OR birds. I really appreciate Mr. Becks' honesty in saying that there are better taxi's at birds, than himself. I know Sven has a good name in birds, and would not hesitate to throw a Mearns his way.
