    Scopes

IMO Zeiss conquest 6.5-20 x 50 is the best buy out there right now. Only negative I have on the scope is not enough MOA adjustment. This is easily remedied with a 20 moa base. I think this scope is far superior to any vortex scope except the Razor. Vortex makes good optics, but sells most of their stuff based on the warranty IMO.

    Leica CRF1600 Rangefinder

Are you sure it does not have angles in it? I am pretty sure it does, just not as advanced ballistic program as the 1600-B. I have been told this by Doug from cameraland and that guy seems to know his chit...

    #2 Record Book Elk

No one made any negative comments in this thread, guys just are excited to see a giant bull. Huntjunkie needs to do whatever he has to do. If he has commitments to a magazine, so be it. I think trophy hunter starting this thread was taken wrong by a select few. I see it simply as a guy wants to see some pictures of a giant bull and hear a good story. The suspense kills us hunters. Congrats to your daughter again on a giant bull, I will read the story either on here or in my Eastman's when it arrives.

    Outfitter Standardization and Restrictions

No more restrictions. Standardization is a terrible word... As stated above, it is essentially socialism. MOST guides bust their humps and, despite what most think, they do not make huge sums of money. There is a lot of time involved in guiding, and trust me, if you looked at how many hours most guides spend, on average, per year, their per hour wage would make you sick. Some of the top guides in the state have other jobs to subsidize their income. If a guy wants to get 300 cameras on the strip, by all means, tear it up. I personally do not agree with it, but who am I to tell him not to do it. That's a minimum of $25,000 in cameras, another couple k in salt and his time and fuel to set all those cameras has to be astronomical. He has a client that is willing to pay him a large sum to find the biggest buck he can. Some of these auction tags go for huge sums and the guys that get them are living on a different scale than most. At the end of the day, most guides bust their butts for their clients and deserve to be compensated.

    Optics: Swaro 12x50EL's or 15x56

The guy in payson is the same guy who does it for the outdoorsman down here in phoenix. This is the best tripod mount system for the EL's. Outdoorsman's adapter with the stud press fit into the bino's by the guy in Payson. The strap mounts IMO limit the adjustability of the binocular and wear out over time.

    Optics: Swaro 12x50EL's or 15x56

Azpredator- I know exactly what you are talking about. The glass is absolutely perfect minus the "field flatner lenses" as Swarovski calls them. When panning, it almost gives you a fish bowl effect.

    SOLD

I agree with the free market idea, I just usually see most guys on this website thinking about others when they sell things. Not too many "shady" deals on this site, which is a good thing. I have done several transactions with others on here, sending them money before receiving product, knowing that the description is correct and there are a lot of good guys on here. Friends do not let friends spend $50+ on bricks of 22 lr tho...... To each his own...
  12. Shoot at different distances and see if your arrow angle into the target isn't different on each distance. This would indicate fishtailing and could be a few different things. More than likely a simply adjustment of your rest either right or left.

    Vortex vs. Minox vs Zeiss

Swarovski, Zeiss, Minox, Vortex in that order. If you got the money, the swaros are the best. I suggest looking thru all of them at dusk @ sportsmans warehouse. They will usually take you outside and let you look off in the distance. Looking inside the store does very little. Have them put them all on tripods and see what YOU like best. Everyone's eyes are different. FWIW, I have owned 15's, and sold them both times. I always find myself using my EL's more than the 15's. I believe this is why lots of people sold their 15's when the 12 el's came out. Bigger field of view, better exit pupil and a crisper picture.

    mechanical broadheads success and failures

Hey Buffhunter, not to derail the original topic, but another scenario I have seen on an arrow getting snapped off without hitting any trees was a few years ago on an archery bull hunt. I was calling for a buddy and he hit an elk low in the shoulder/leg and got enough penetration to go thru the edge of the shoulder/leg, but not enough to get thru the entire brisket/ cavity. Shot was low, but we watched the bull take a step after being shot and his arrow fall out with, if I remember right, 4" of arrow missing. The sound was unmistakable, shoulder shot. Loud Thwack with 0 penetration.

    What is this?

It is clearly 26m, I hunt that exact area and if you go on AZGF and look at 26m boundaries it will encompass the stretch you are talking about.

    Salt

I am with two-windy, the definition says AND produced for the livestock industry. I think this might be another GREY area that is up to the interpretation of the officer. I tend to error on the side of caution and would not consider trophy rock produced for the livestock industry, but produced for hunters. Trophy rock is a weird attractant in which, it is not actually manufactured. This is really a rock that they mine from the earth in Colorado. So I guess after a little research, This is not actually Manufactured, so I guess getting something in writing about this attractant would be a good thing to obtain from AZGFD to be safe.

Remember When AZGFD Added A Day To The Draw?

I put my little brother in for a junior deer tag on the extra day and he drew a tag that is less than 50% draw odds.
