Vaquero outfitters charged with chasing antelope

AZGFD works pretty methodically in their law enforcement.. Does anyone know anyone that was accused by our AZGFD, that got out of it in court? I do not. I am not sure if they ever officially accused Wagner of a crime, rather investigated him. Usually they have their ducks in a row when they publicly accuse someone. Couesmagnet-- This particular guide has been on a lot of people's radar for a long time. Hard not to immediately publicly convict him. I look forward to all the details of this case. I understand your point though, lynch mobs are always a bad thing. Look at ferguson, Madison, LA and I am sure there are a few other instances of lynch mobs.

Vaquero outfitters..... Ouch that'll leave a mark

Other guides in this state are grinning ear to ear right now..... If you do not think he will reap benefits from selling his guiding business to his other guide, you are naïve. This happens in any and all business in this world......

    AZGFD DOES IT AGAIN

Reading comprehension is very low in this post.... Please re-read Hinkle's response. Pretty clear what their main agenda is here.

Vaquero outfitters charged with chasing antelope

I have known several people who have been accused of a wildlife crime by AZGFD. Not one of them has ever been acquitted of the charges... They either will plead or waste a bunch of money trying to fight a losing battle. Especially if USF&W is involved.

    New Custom Build Started

Insane 300 yard group, I might just put her on the shelf and never shoot it again. Ok, I wouldn't do that, but it will be hard, if not impossible to achieve a better 300 yard group. As for putting on the break, If it were me, I would build another gun to put the break on if this one is shooting this good without it.

Can Someone Please Explain This To Me?

Legal and ethical are completely different terms.... While it is technically legal in Az, some look down on it as not ethical. Everyone's ethics are different and to each their own. Life is too short to debate ethics on radios or no radios. Conversation is not worth the piss for the pissing match!!

    Spearfishing in Rocky Point???

I believe the restrictions involve using air while spear fishing. Have to use snorkel or free dive.

    Spearfishing in Rocky Point???

I go a few times a year deep sea fishing out of Cholla Bay and last year or year before, I tried spear fishing. The ocean was pretty rough that day, so we did not go deep sea fishing, instead caught sea trout from shore and I attempted to spear some fish. I ended up shooting a sting ray, but was kinda perplexed and what to do after I shot it, thank god it got off the spear. LOL. A few years back, we caught a few flounder from shore, and that was my intended target fish, but I did not see any. The ocean was pretty clear despite it being a rougher ocean weather day.

Oneshot- Why should I go barbless on the hooks? That is the frustrating part about Lee's ferry!! It takes about 100 hook sets to get 50 trout to the boat!. We are already doing the deep sea tuna trip while there, but I know my A.D.D. will kick in just looking at the ocean from the house. I am sure there will be lots of pictures of me fishing with my neck hanging coozy on. I am getting excited about this trip now.

2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll

I guess this is where this thread has gone, so I will throw in my 2 cents. I am 95% an archery hunter. I agree that the hunt starts when you get close to the animal. I can not tell you how many times I have been sitting at 200 yards and really have no care in the world about the animal busting me. 0 adrenaline flowing, just waiting, trying to figure out my next move to close the gap. When I hit the 120 yard mark, my blood starts pumping a little more and I know that one move can result in the animal entering my kill distance. On the other hand, I got the long range bug a few years back, and put in quite a bit of time to get good with my rifle. I got into reloading, practiced my tail off, built a nice gun and started to understand ballistics. All this led up to a bull hunt where I planned on taking an elk at "long range." I decided that if I was going to rifle hunt, I wanted to make it a challenge. IMO shooting a few hundred yards with a rifle is really not a challenge. So I figured the way I would challenge myself was to get good at shooting long distance. I will admit that the "hunt" part was not nearly as exciting and I approached it completely different. Instead of using the skills I use for archery, I now had to use my shooting skill set. Completely different skill set, but both take practice to achieve the end goal. IMO getting close with my bow is much more rewarding than shooting far with my gun. It is a completely different feeling. I enjoy shooting long range, and will continue to do it. I do not look down an long range hunting, it is a different beast all together though. Lots of skill involved in shooting that far, but not much skill involved in getting that close.

    Heading to Abaco Island

Thanks for the offers guys, I may end up taking a few of you up on them. To specify, this trip is a friends and family trip, so fishing is not the #1 reason for visiting. We already have a deep sea tuna trip scheduled, but our house is right on the water, so I think fly fishing for bonefish sounds like a serious challenge. I might even take a spinning rod/reel set up if it will help catch some fish. Any one have a recommendation on a rod that will fit in my luggage?
  20. Long story short, Guy online did not advertise they were nickel plated cases in description and upon arrival they are. I usually shoot Winchester brass, and now I obtained some Winchester nickel plated casings. Will I see a difference in POI? I know they are a little harder on my dies, but I was wondering if my accuracy will suffer? These will only be practice rounds loaded to same specs as my hunting rounds. Should I limit my distance with these? Thanks for any advice.

    BIGGEST pig you've seen? (Pics)

LOL! I figured you hunted enough in your life to know that it was gutted in the field..... I guess you have to explain everything to some...

    BIGGEST pig you've seen? (Pics)

It is a one man job to weigh a javelina, weighing deer and elk takes quite a bit more effort. Javelina come out of the field whole for the most of us, ( some guys debone them in the field) but most deer and elk are quartered or deboned in the field due to their size. This is why it is hard to get an actual live weight on these animals. It is not worth the extra effort of dragging a deer all the way out, just to see what it weighed.

    Reloading Nickel cases

I am not sure if it was a coincidence or because of the nickel, but I had my first stuck case in the die in a long time today. It was a nickel case and oh yeah that was a PITA to remove. Noticeably more effort to size on the nickel too, but that could have been because they were fired In a different gun other than mine.

    BIGGEST pig you've seen? (Pics)

My average weight of a filed dressed Javelina is around 30-40 lbs. My largest I have taken was in 26m 2 years ago and he was 56 lbs field dressed. I would guess 10lbs bigger than my previous big pig, and I have taken 15 so far. By field dressed, I mean gutted, head and hide still attached. He was an exceptional pig that was living high on the hog in neighborhoods. This year my pig might have pushed the 20lb mark field dressed. I did not shoot it by mistake, it was the only pig that volunteered to catch my arrow. All the others wanted to stay in the bush.

    Reloading Nickel cases

I only paid 30$ for the brass, it is not worth my time or hassle to send them back. I told the guy I was unhappy, he apologized and we left it at that. No big deal, just learned to get pictures of items being bought off of forums instead of taking a guy's word. I doubt I will ever shoot this 300 wsm enough to wear out my RCBS dies. Thanks for the advice guys
