I agree with treestandman, there's no better feeling than when you've put in the time and effort of scouting and planning, and you shoot that buck you've been keeping tabs on! Its a lot of hard work, but in the end it makes it that much sweeter.

My nose is starting to run just looking at all the green. Awesome pics!

Archery cow in 6a sept. hunt

If your financing permits I would suggest picking up a trail camera and place it where your seeing these does to see if the bucks are around. Trail Cameras are always a good way to find out if there are animals in your area.

For all the east side boys like myself I recently stumbled on a place in AJ that a gentleman by the name of Robert runs out of his back yard. Great guy with an exceptional selection of any archery equipment. I just took my bow there this weekend and he was willing to do whatever it took to revive my old bow while making it cost-effective. I believe the place is called Broken Arrow.

I've been 4 times since it opened. I always seem to be in the area since I work all over the valley. Sometimes I just pop in for lunch! nothing like venison brat and fries before heading back to work!

To take a quote from Duwane Adams in the Kaibab Mule Deer book; try skunk scent. A deer or elk has run across a skunk or two in its life, so it's a lot less alarming than a human smell. You probably won't be welcome back in camp, but at least the animals won't suspect a thing!

I finally shot my first deer. It's not a trophy, but for my first deer to be a coues buck I think is something to brag about. He's a little 2x2 and weighed in at the butchers at a whopping 60 lbs. I shot him at 125 yds. with my 25-06. I'll be sending my pics to Amanda to have them posted and I'll give the details of the hunt. Good luck to everyone.

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to leave tomorrow night up to 32 for the last weekend of the hunt. One of my hunting partners got a nice 4x3 on Monday. He's been able to stay up there for a couple weeks and knows the place really well. I'm very excited to get back up there and shoot my first coues buck. Good luck to everybody and have a merry Christmas!

Hey guys, I got back from a hunt in 32 on Monday and we saw about 37 does, and one big 5 by5 on the day before the opening. We also saw a big 5x4 muley with about a 25 inch spread and a 4x3 muler that was narrow but his rack had to have been 24 inches tall! I'll be going back up Christmas afternoon and stay until Sunday. I'm hoping to get my first coues buck; well, my first big game animal period. Good luck everyone!

Hey Amanda, Just let me know when you get them and I'll buy a couple. Thanx and keep up the fantastic work!

Hey Amanda, If and when you get window decals, sign me up. I'll take a couple of them for me and my hunting buddies.

My opinion is that all the scents I have ever seen out there on the market are whitetail scents. This is totally different than coues deer scent and it will only sound off the alarm. Your best bet is to just glass, glass, glass.

Thank you guys for the info. I'm going to buy a topo map this week and begin planning. Where is a good place to get topo maps?
