I'm pretty stingy with my money but I will and do support the things I believe in. Wildlife and conservation are very important to me so I will support things such as this.

For you guys who know more about fishing than I do. How long will we have to wait until a reasonable chance at catching bass or crappie at Roosevelt or Alamo? Any advice for us casual fishermen is greatly appreciated.

When in 12a in the fall, I see way more birds down in the low country than I ever have up high. I've never been there during spring turkey season so I am not sure if they move back on top of the plateau. I once counted 42 birds in a flock and then drove 1/2 mile down the road and found another flock in the high 20's. Definitely don't see anything near that where I hunt birds now.

"AZGFD tries to catch the second cycle to maintain a population." This has always confused me. G&F contradicts this by allowing killing of hens in the fall. AZ is not a turkey rich state, and the killing of the baby makers should never be permitted IMO.

Mingus Mountain Longbeards is also having a banquet this weekend. National Wild Turkey Federation (nwtf.org)

I also remember a time when there were no crew cabs and everyone piled into front like those four fellas.

I don't know why but I was expecting to see more snow near Alpine on the road to Big Lake.

I have gone back and forth on whether I should sale mine too. I have less than 15 cameras but running cameras was my summer hobby. I supported the ban but I sure do miss it. I may pull them out of storage and put them in places/units I no longer hunt or plan to hunt. Gives me something to do and I just like to see what I can get pictures of. Good luck with your sale.

I haven't put a 3rd, 4th or 5th choice in 12-15 years. If they are left after rounds one or two, I just don't want to hunt them and use my points. I'd just as soon buy an OTC tag or go varmint calling. JMO. Congratulations to all that drew.
-
Actually, I think an archery bull tag as a third choice is more farfetched than a rifle cow tag. Congratulations no matter, you are going elk hunting.

Can anyone get into their portal account right now? I just tried for myself, and two boys and I keep getting an error message.

We got our table -
This draw seems to be unique to all the past draws. Can't believe how so many people have been hit so sporadically.

I know things have changed dramatically over last few years but I sold my 2001 creampuff 4runner 3.5 years ago, mint condition, 4x4, low miles for the year never offroad with it and I got $3900. Wish I had it back but I wouldn't sell it this time. Good Luck with your sell.

Bowhunter Looking for an AZ bear guide but no hounds
knothead posted a topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Hello, I am just starting to do my research for good AZ bear hunting guide, but I do not want to hunt with hounds. I'm okay with spot & stalk, calling or sitting in a blind. I've got no problem with people who use hounds but that is not how I want to get my first and probably last bear. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks -
Taking Care of Feral Cattle in Gila National Forest
knothead replied to stanley's topic in The Campfire
If you read about Arizona's earliest history when they were first trying to discover routes across state and follow rivers, they write about encountering wild cattle. This was especially true in south east Arizona. Supposedly early Spanish settlers abandoned them when they left due to hostile conditions mostly related to Indian encounters. They write about how dangerous the wild cattle were and would attack men and horse, often killing them. Arizona has a serious feral donkey and feral horse problems. They say a feral horse/donkey population doubles every 4-6 year if gone unchecked. Somebody in a position of leadership needs to grow a pair and deal with it but they are all afraid of the woke blind fools. -
Thanks for reports and Pics. Like already mentioned, this is all very encouraging and the entire state desperately needs it. Would appreciate it if you keep pics and reports coming.

As a kid growing up in the 70's my dad and I would go walking around Mnt. Ord. We use to find all kinds of old bottle and such. A lot of the old bottles back in the day used to have their date on the bottoms. I still come across a few old ones from time to time.
