    Another Lifetime License Raffle

Lifetime licenses are the number one fundraiser item. They sell out quicker than anything and you have to move quick once people find out there is an auction for one. I rarely even look at the other stuff. I already have a lifetime license, but the winner can gift it to a child or grandchild living in AZ. Do a bunch more of these.

I find politics very interesting, but I hate the state of politics right now. Definitely not feeling optimistic about the future of our country.

    New Rules starting 8-10-24

Personally, I have never seen this used. However, a friend had a 13B tag a few years ago and he said he saw guys using devices like what you are describing. Technolgy is changing exponentially, and it seems some guys need every advantage they can get. Kinda sad really.

    HOW DO YOU CAMP

I used to occasionally just throw a tarp on the ground and put my bedroll on it. This was almost always when I was by myself. 6-7 years ago, I did this around Mormon mountain because I didn't get to my camp spot until around midnight and I didn't want to set up my entire camp at that time. About 3:00 in the morning something wakes me up as I feel something walking on me. I look down my body as a lay there and two skunks were walking on top of my bag. Scared the heck out of me. Shooed them off and after about 30 minutes was able to fall back to sleep to only have another one start walking on my tarp. By then I was up and that was the last time I ever slept on the ground like that. The man who would shoe our horses back in early 80's who was hunting near jacks canyon and a skunk crawled into his bag and bit him all over. He had to do the whole rabies shot thing.

    HOW DO YOU CAMP

I love to camp but it seems most my friends and family don't anymore except for hunts. In the process of building a cabin in my hunt unit (finalizing plans) but I will probably still camp out for hunts. I think a lot of what determines how people hunt is if females come along. My wife was a trooper when we dated and when kids were young. Not so much anymore. She and girls will rent a hotel room nearby and me and guys usually camp out. From my experience, women never go backwards, only forward.

    Corner crossing

I am all for corner crossing and private landowners should not be able to prevent the public from accessing public land by doing nothing more than crossing over the air of their land. That said, I seem to recall reading something about Backcountry hunters & anglers who are not necessarily friendly to the general hunting population. After a little research this is what I found out about them: Backcountry Hunters and Anglers | Activist Facts

    Do you vote?

I have voted in every election I was eligible to vote in since I turned 18 back in 1981. I have a very good friend who will be 67 on his next birthday who is an avid hunter and has been his entire life. The first time he ever voted was in 2016 for Trump. Something tells me there are a lot of other people I know who don't vote. So many people seem so indifferent to voting. As far as I am concerned, you have zero right to gripe & moan if you don't vote. For no other reason, voting is your ticket to bitch.

    Suggestions on quad / atv

I have a 2001 Sportsman 400 (425cc) that I got for fathers day that same year. It has been a great machine and very dependable. Plenty of power and never felt like I needed more. I recommend keeping up on regular maintenance and store indoors. I have had Hondas too and they are very good machines as well.

    AZGF Overlapping hunts

4 years ago I had a 6a rifle antelope tag and a 6a archery elk tag. The last weekend of the antelope hunt overlapped with the opening weekend of archery elk. I could carry a gun and a bow at the same time. I actually shot my antelope at about 4:00 pm on the last day of the hunt which was the first Sunday of the archery elk hunt. I tried to kill one with a bow and arrow but couldn't get it done. The only time I hunted with a gun was when I went to pick up my double bull blind on last day.

Well........ I'm already disappointed that I didn't draw and now I'm disappointed again on the success & proliferation of wolves in AZ. So yes, salt in a wound would describe how I feel about this video. If you like lots of wolves in AZ, I can see where you might not see this video as a negative thing.

Some argue that releasing captive-reared adult wolf pairs into the wild is the best way. But is it really? In this video, Jim deVos, Mexican wolf coordinator for the Arizona Game and Fish Department, discusses why fostering of wolf pups into wild dens is more effective than releasing captive pairs in the long run because of the geographic dispersal of genetics that fostering provides. This video was recorded before the latest fostering numbers were released; for an update on the continuing success of the program, see the news release. Fostering is a coordinated effort of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arizona Game and Fish Department, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and the Saving Animals From Extinction program. Aerial support for the 2024 operations was provided by LightHawk Conservation Flying and the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Aviation Program. It Has started

A lot of things don't work like they used to. I have two more years then I am hanging up the spurs. After this draw I am up to 9 deer points now. I will try one more time for my favorite hunt and then after that it is the easy to draw stuff. Did the Owens clan draw anything?
