    Corner crossing

I am all for corner crossing and private landowners should not be able to prevent the public from accessing public land by doing nothing more than crossing over the air of their land. That said, I seem to recall reading something about Backcountry hunters & anglers who are not necessarily friendly to the general hunting population. After a little research this is what I found out about them: Backcountry Hunters and Anglers | Activist Facts

    Do you vote?

I have voted in every election I was eligible to vote in since I turned 18 back in 1981. I have a very good friend who will be 67 on his next birthday who is an avid hunter and has been his entire life. The first time he ever voted was in 2016 for Trump. Something tells me there are a lot of other people I know who don't vote. So many people seem so indifferent to voting. As far as I am concerned, you have zero right to gripe & moan if you don't vote. For no other reason, voting is your ticket to bitch.

    Suggestions on quad / atv

I have a 2001 Sportsman 400 (425cc) that I got for fathers day that same year. It has been a great machine and very dependable. Plenty of power and never felt like I needed more. I recommend keeping up on regular maintenance and store indoors. I have had Hondas too and they are very good machines as well.

    AZGF Overlapping hunts

4 years ago I had a 6a rifle antelope tag and a 6a archery elk tag. The last weekend of the antelope hunt overlapped with the opening weekend of archery elk. I could carry a gun and a bow at the same time. I actually shot my antelope at about 4:00 pm on the last day of the hunt which was the first Sunday of the archery elk hunt. I tried to kill one with a bow and arrow but couldn't get it done. The only time I hunted with a gun was when I went to pick up my double bull blind on last day.

It has started, card got hit 10 min ago

Well........ I'm already disappointed that I didn't draw and now I'm disappointed again on the success & proliferation of wolves in AZ. So yes, salt in a wound would describe how I feel about this video. If you like lots of wolves in AZ, I can see where you might not see this video as a negative thing.

This is kinda like salt in an open wound for us guys who didn't draw. AZGFD azgfd.com From:e-news@azgfd.gov To:arizona_elk@yahoo.com Tue, Jun 18 at 11:17 AM GAME AND FISH NEWS June 18, 2024 Arizona Game and Fish Department The role of geography in Mexican wolf recovery How fostering helps disseminate genetics in the wild population PHOENIX — What is the best way to infuse genetic diversity into the wild Mexican wolf population? Some argue that releasing captive-reared adult wolf pairs into the wild is the best way. But is it really? In this video, Jim deVos, Mexican wolf coordinator for the Arizona Game and Fish Department, discusses why fostering of wolf pups into wild dens is more effective than releasing captive pairs in the long run because of the geographic dispersal of genetics that fostering provides. This video was recorded before the latest fostering numbers were released; for an update on the continuing success of the program, see the news release. Fostering is a coordinated effort of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arizona Game and Fish Department, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and the Saving Animals From Extinction program. Aerial support for the 2024 operations was provided by LightHawk Conservation Flying and the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Aviation Program. It Has started

A lot of things don't work like they used to. I have two more years then I am hanging up the spurs. After this draw I am up to 9 deer points now. I will try one more time for my favorite hunt and then after that it is the easy to draw stuff. Did the Owens clan draw anything?

How long until cards are hit??

The overwhelming number of Americans of ALL colors couldn't tell you what Juneteenth was or is. I must have been out of the country when we made this an official holiday because I don't remember it happening and it has only been recognized over last few years. I wish all new holidays were placed on a Sunday when most people are off work. Here is the description: a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

    Arizona Bowhunters Annual Banquet!

We didn't win anything but had a good time last night. I heard auction buffalo tag went for a record amount of $55k. No ABA Mormon Lake Bowhunter Happening for the 2nd year in a row. ABA is looking for a new affordable location to hold the annual 3D shoot.

    Quail hatch

What are going to do with them when they are grown? Those invasive starlings wreak havoc on baby quail. I have seen them eat many of the baby quail over the years.

2023 Mormon Lake Bowhunter Happening 3D shoot?

I know this is Full Draw archers so I am assuming ABA Happening is cancelled again this year as well. BS is an understatement. Might be time to move on to Clints Wells.
  15. Anyone know if this ABA 3D shoot is going to happen this year? Their website is not updated. I have heard the private land where shoot was held has been sold to some investors.

How was opening day? Who got one?

I probably have you beat. Turkey is tough and to consistently get one requires real skill, especially in AZ. If you eliminated birds killed by road hunters from the success reports, you would see success rates cut in half. For the life of me, I still haven't figured out why G&F allows the killing hens (baby makers) in the fall.
  18. I would consider the Lexus RX models such as RX350 & RX400 in your searches. Very well made vehicles. Good Luck

    Harvester EVO Suppressor

I put one in the shopping cart based on everyone's responses here but not sure what to do next. I have never bought a suppressor before but I recently bought an AR and want to set it up for varmint calling. What next? Do I have to apply for a permit now? Does it even make sense for me to buy this before I have a permit? I live in nw part of valley. I should change my handle to newb. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I hope your son gets a big ol tom.
  21. I am currently in final stages of plans for a cabin build at Mormon lake. Should be submitting plans for septic permit in next week or two. I am looking for a reputable general contractor with references in the flagstaff/mormon lake area. If you know of anyone, please let me know or give them my contact info. Best to text first as I normally don't reply to numbers that I don't recognize. thanks John 623-680-4458 Peoria

    General contractor in Flagstaff area?

Thanks for the responses people have sent me so far. I reached out to Mike Furr already and was told they only work in immediate Flagstaff area. I will contact Jeff Knorr today. When we started this whole process about 4 years ago, we found out contractors were a year or more out. It's disappointing news but not surprising. Keep the recommendations coming. John 623-680-4458

    WY Antelope Permit Numbers 2024

I plan on going in 2.5 years when I have 15 points. I hope everything will have recovered by then and we have no die offs in between. I went once before in 2011 and it was a very short & successful archery hunt. The rut was amazing and want to experience that again. Next time I plan to use a decoy.
