I have been hunting on state trust land and stopped by the sheriff. All I had to do was show him my hunting licence. I called the state land department afterwards to confirm I was in the clear and they said that is all you need when hunting. (Scouting does not count BTW).

I am gonna head up to Knoll lake the first weekend in May for a camping/ OTC turkey scouting trip. Anyone have any insight on this lake? I have never been there before.

Fishing was really slow last weekend. Threw all I had at them but to no avail. My buddy managed to land 1 trout, and I got a haul of crawdads but that's about it.

I just picked up a GSP from Ed Rucker (erucker on CWT) at TKO Bird Dogs on Monday. Couldn't be happier about the new addition to our family. Here are some pictures of Archer and our german shepherd Wednesday.

This has happened to me way more times than it should............. I was out this weekend on my archery Javelina hunt and could not believe the blatant disregard that people have when it comes to etiquette. I was hunting along with my wife and two friends. We set up on a hill right as the sun was coming up and throughout the morning had 3 different groups of hunters head right for us. I waved at the first group and they did the right thing and waved back to apologize and headed back where they came from. The second group decided that first light would be a great time to park at the bottom of the hill I was on and slam their truck doors and proceed to have a conversation that I am sure could be heard 5 miles away. Just when I thought I had had all I could take, the third group of hunters apparently took my effort to wave them off was an invitation to stomp their way up the hill and start glassing not 40 yards from me. If it had not been for my wife to calm me down things may have played out very differently. I wish there was a way to ban these types of people from the outdoors. They do not deserve all that it has to offer.

I fully expect to run into people when I am close to a road. Common sense would tell you that. There is no excuse for when people continually try to take over your stand.....
