Nikon scope Hoghunter , I apologize. Here's what happened. I replied to your pm around 730 by clicking on your enclosed number. I sent 3 pics and got a response stating "Interesting, but I don't think it was meant for me" I assumed u didn't like it and moved on. I didn't realize it wasn't your number and the reply was really meaning the text was meant for them. That's the bad news. Now here's the not so bad part. I actually have two scopes. I bought two new savages and pulled the scopes. U are welcome to the second one and I'll eat the shipping to make it right. Thx Jim

You can make a donation to Jared’s cancer battle at no cost to you!
no worries replied to bowsniper's topic in The Campfire
Private school donations are different from public school donations. You can make separate donations to each. ACTSO is 100 percent legitimate. Dollar for dollar comes back to you when you file state taxes. We have never had any issues with our refund. In Tucson, Institute for a Better Education (IBE) does a great job as well. They have an office on Craycroft close to 29th. It's a great way to steer some of your tax money to someone instead of just dumping it into the black hole of govt. -
Ok, I take 3 kids hunting in 36A today. We spot a herd at 120 yards out and one kid hits a pig dead on and it drops right there. We walk up and it's dead but there are 2 piglets suckling on her. We never saw the young ones , they are maybe 3 inches tall and 8 inches long. The herd scatters and runs over multiple ridges. Shouldn't they be giving birth in the spring??

Thx for the info. We would have passes as well if they had been visible.

Seems like there was one on Tucson backpage a couple of weeks ago. Great guns in my opinion , I have a 38 and a 9 mm.

I picked my up leftover 36A general javelina tags for my 11 and 12 year old boys. We know a few spots in 36 B but haven't hunted 36A before. Anyone willing to share some info would be greatly appreciated. Scouted a little on Sunday and only found older pig sign and a few coyotes. Thx Jim

That's great news that you saw several herds. Good luck with the jr hunt. We have keys to a friends place off Universal Rd in 36b and will base out of there. Thx Jim

Bought the kids (11 & 12) a couple of leftover tags and was wondering if anyone else is hunting then, or has been seeing javelina in there. We had good luck in 36B a couple of seasons ago but haven't hunted the 36A side of the road. We can only hunt the weekend and the last day because of their school schedule. Shoot me a PM if you're going to be out there or if you don't mind passing on some info. Thx Jim

I have a unfired Bushmaster AR 15 for sale. Still in the box. Bought it from WalMart 6 months ago. It's their entry level flat top model that comes with a red dot. Super lightweight carbon fiber and the thin barrel. Cost $631 plus tax, around $680 out the door. Selling it for $600. Thx Jim

First of all a big thank you to all the veterans out there. I took my kids out scouting last Tuesday for the youth hunt that's coming up and I was absolutely amazed at how many campsites we saw between Peppersauce and the San Man junction. It seemed like every pullout had multiple vehicles and camps set up. Is this pretty much normal? Haven't hunted 33 before and I'm a little worried that hunting pressure has really taken its toll. Is there a general rule of thumb as far as deer moving higher or lower when they are pressured ?? Do they stay put and lay low ?? Also wiuld love to hear from hunters who were out there about what they were seeing. As always thanks for any replies. Jim

I'll take it if muledeer33 doesn't.

Unit 33 youth hunt general advise on finding deer
no worries posted a topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Hi everyone. My 10 and 12 year old were drawn for any antlered deer unit 33 in late November. I'm really looking forward to taking them out. We are more focused on coues but wont pass on a muley. I hunted years ago ,but in 34B mainly and am a little rusty and behind on gear and technique. First ? Glassing, what direction is best in am and pm? Since the Catalinas are steep, a lot of areas have shady slopes either longer in am or earlier pm. Does this change your glassing pattern? How do u pick a glassing spot? How long do u stay put if you're not seeing deer before u move to another spot? We have good access to Pusch Ridge area thru a friends property (La Reserve) but it climbs quickly once u go the 1/4 mile from houses. Any thoughts on hunting in there? We are also looking at San Man. area , base camping and hiking in each day. Thoughts?? Suggestions?? Thanks Jim -
