New Dove Limits!!
khmer6 replied to khmer6's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I love quail but I swear they only come out when out of season or when I'm carrying only a bow -
I might be down if the kids and wife are busy.

Are you sure? I received two. One was specific says this email address was used to apply blah blah blah. Then there's the generic one for general azgfd updates/blogs

New Dove Limits!!

I didn't buy my migratory bird stamp for this year because I bought my 2014 license online for the Javi hunt and usually get the bird stamp with it, but with the price changes and confusion (didn't want to accidently buy another 2013-2014 bird stamp)I opted out and figured I would buy it later. Is it the same thing like the waterfowl stamp you slap on your license? Or is it another piece of paper? -
I was sent an email from Remington with a link for a status update. How many weeks after UPS dropped it off did you get an email? I sent mine in really late after I applied for the recall. Just never found time to drop it off at UPS.

i was going to do the entire package deal thing for like 150, but figure I would just buy some new glass this year and put in for next year. would love a buffalo tag!
-
Bah! I knew I shouldn't of sent mine in. Where is the status update page you guys are using. And a for the fellow with the 870. Its most likely the 870 express, a different animal from the 870 icon. Make sure your chamber is clean as well.

Savage 111 combo in 25-06 for 270
khmer6 replied to khmer6's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I guess I'll spill the beans so my fellow CWT members can jump on this if they want. This was at Dick's inside Arrowhead Mall. There wasn't an associate around for 15 minutes. The rifle didn't have a scope mounted to it, but the tag said WScope. Not sure if this is an old model without Accutrigger or not as all their locks are on the trigger and I couldn't tell. They also had some Axis/Edge models with camo stocks for 299. Maybe everyone is just preparing to dump all these models since the Axis II XP with Accutrigger is out and can be had for 330 shipped. -
So I just came back from the store and this lil guy caught my eye. They had the Savage 111 in 25-06 with scope for only 270!!! I don't ever remember seeing the 111 this low. Maybe the Axis or Edge models but dang. I wasn't sure if it was the older ones with the Bushnell or nikons scope or if they had any other calibers. Of you had a rack full of rifles would you still buy it??? I would of bought it on the spot but toting my wife and kids around isn't usually fun when trying to buy another gun. What would the retail be on it? I usually see them for 450-600 buy not sure about used prices.

Smart bull. Just keep staying close to homes lol
-
I find its a lot harder take pictures with a DSLR and scope. Were you using a standard point and shoot behind glass Patrick? They look really nice
-
There were a lot more in groups nearby. Mostly cows but there were some bulls and spikes
-
I have always taken route A. It takes you through the forest and stoneman lake. Never done route b before, is it similar scenery? I was a 2wd truck, roads were good and easy. Almost hit a few deer as well. Slamming he breaks

I was there too with my son and a couple of friends. Never thought that many "wild animals" Could congregate in one small place. Got some awesome pics thru spotting scopes as well.
