Where can I find bulk .223 bullets?
khmer6 replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Steel cased can be had for that. Brass cased not that much more under 30 cents. What sucks is components havent caught up. Miss the days of under 10 cents. But casting eases that cost -

I think I know of a place too ;-) there's a reason they still have stock lol. I just order a bunch of 500bulk packs from grader mountain for under 5 cents a round. Not the greatest but it sure beats paying a dime and then some -

I don't care who's president. There's only one direction ammo and components will go. Look at 00 and in 04. Prices have trippled -

I always see retumbo at sportsman in n phx. I think Bruno too

What or who you bedding

well there's a FL sizer die... a seating die... then you have a collect sizing die, a separate crimp die if you desire. and possible some other extra dies if you feel necessary. a 2-die set should fill your needs enough. and lots and lots of powder ;-D

I want to reload, I need advice....
khmer6 replied to ctracingraptor's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
don't look to save money for plinking rifle rounds. it takes a lot of ammo to reach that. unless surplus components like powder and pulled bullets come back, it'll be hard. i can buy 308 for 35 cents a round with reloadable boxer primed brass and FMJ. sell the brass and stuff be cheaper than rolling my own. for 223 i'm up to 10 cents a round these days reloading :-( . Pistol rounds cost dang near nothing. essentially the cost of a primer around 1.5-3 cents. where you really save are your oddball or not so common calibers. the 7mm you could save by loading premium hunting ammo, but then again. a lot of load development might put you in the hole. shoot me a PM if you are interested in more details or in depth. -
they had the 4-16x50 a couple of weeks ago. i guess im a moron for passing that deal up. could of used a little more magnification for the 7mm
-
Very sure it is the Viper HS series. They had same deal last month but with a 50$ gift card too. Cabela's has strange deals on vortex items once every so often. Got a pair of diamond back 8.5x50 for the wife to try for around 100 bucks a few months backhttp://www.cabelas.com/product/Vortex-reg-Viper-reg-HS-mm-Riflescopes/1394449.uts

thanks guys. cabelas currently has them right now. unfortunately its just the V plex and not BDC. Combine with your favorite cash back site and cabelas coupons and you're under 200 bucks

Shoot it fouled! -
I second that. There was a time not long ago they wanted 75 bucks for a box of shotgun primers! riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidiculous

It is slower than both powders but faster than H1000 and Retumbo
-
For anyone looking for Retumbo, I almost always see it on the list at SportsManWareHouse in N Phx

I decided to give Bruno's another try a few weeks ago after some afterthought about never going there again and the comments that followed. I browsed the online store and noticed the most popular powders were 2x as much such as Alliant Promo for 199. Pistol powders are going for a premium, rifle powders are hit or miss. Stumbled on some rifle powders 1#, 5# and 8# jugs that were decently priced, didn't really need it or ever used it before but I went ahead and placed my order online. Went to pick it up Saturday morning, he seemed busy but was glad to grab my order for me. Not a lot of chit chat but I get it. This isn't a place to talk shop during a time like this. They also have CCI small primers for a decent price under 25/k. But cant take anymore primers in. I hear you on people asking very vague questions and expecting an answer. They might be a reloading shop but they aren't an encyclopedia with tables and data in their brains. They could throw out some common powders to name a few but then some guy might not have a good experience with them and be upset. I did notice there was more lighting in the store than the dusty dark man cave it once was :-D

Never used it before. Looks like Hodgdon has some loads listed for it. Appears to be a little slower then AA MagPro and faster than H1000 and Retumbo. Unfortunately quickload has not data on this powder. Would love to hear your results on it when you get around to testing

awesome ending! another option to try is to use a MicroUSB to go cable with a card reader on the end to view from your phone.

cleanly picked! looks like all thats missing is the front legs?

I thought that at first at well. Was pretty intimidated at changing the blades in fear or knicking myself pretty bad. But check out some videos on changing them. Some pretty interesting idea. I keep a "collar stay" in my knife holster. It helps press against the blade instead of using your thumb and pops off easily. I'm going to assume most people carry a multi tool while hunting as well? That would work too
