Just got my first pair of Binos!!!! :)
Anderson_HOTD69 replied to Anderson_HOTD69's topic in Optics and tripods
I hear ya Willie, but they will last me a really long time and I finally spent good money on something that doesn't eat or require a vet haha. Just in dog food alone for the past 2 years I could have bought 2 pairs of swarovskis. Lol. Thanks he had fun I think. And thank you, Happy Mothers Day ladies -
Growing up I never knew that there was a difference between binos. I thought they were all basically the same. Little did I know there is a HUGE difference between glass. Here they are, my first pair of Binos and hopefully the only pair I will need for a very long time. Now I just need a good Outdoorsman Tripod to go under them 12x50 Vortex Razor HD I am one happy lady now. Almost got all my hunting stuff gathered up... ALMOST

In all honesty I am just learning how to glass and get everything gathered up so I don't have to borrow Cody's friends stuff anymore, BTW, thank you Justin and Trevor for the times you have sent your expensive glass and tripods with me to use on our hunts!!! Cody has looked through them, he has said that he would think about trading me for his Swarovskis that he has. From what I have looked through them, SUPER clear, light weight, and he told me I will be able to glass far with them, which in all honesty I should learn to glass better first lol. We are taking the family to Greer tomorrow for Mother's Day, so we will take them and see how they work Thanks guys, I am pretty pumped up to have my own good pair of binos now -
Sardines are amazing, we have saved hound pups from parvo with them. My truck is always full of sardines haha. Yeah, hounds can be smart, if people will just leave them if they are safe, they will find their way home. My dad had a Plott male that's a half brother of my Camo, lost him up on the Springerville Side of Greens Peak, next morning got signal of him at out camp down the 5 Road in Unit 3B... I should try to clock it to see how long it would take and how far it is, but even then, wouldn't do it justice cuz it's safe to say when you walk 10 miles, the dogs went 20+ lol. Really glad my boy made it home, his buddy Preacher, the other hound that was at the HWY, was so tired and sore, when I saw Camo after running all the way home, he was jumping around running like crazy. When you have a young dog like Camo and Preacher are, it's kinda good to see what they will do in a situation... I wouldn't be surprised if my Camo will find home or me no matter where he is

Hunt, He found his way home on his own as hoped. Oz, that's great to hear, she is a sweet dog she just didn't have it in her to be a hunting dog lol. Glad to hear she is loved and taken care of. Chef, he got extra hugs and kibble tonight along with a can of sardines to help with his soreness and to let him know that home is where the food is haha. Thanks everyone, Camo should sleep good tonight and hopefully will not do that to me again.

Thank you Chef. He is a beautiful dog and is my buddy. Big ol tough boy but around me he is just a baby. This isn't the first time him and his partner in crime have tried to escape but they usually stay close to home.. I'm positive they were chasing something cuz in the 4 years I've had hounds out there I've never had one leave the area. Hounds will be hounds, I am sure he will make his way home, especially when he starts getting a little hungry haha. 7 or so miles is nothing for a dog, it's the busy scary highway that has me worried or someone picking him up and not calling me. I know he is tired because when I got his friend back home he just laid down and fell asleep so hopefully he is home when I get off work

So my boyfriend and I went fishing at Canyon Creek this Saturday on our way down to the valley. After filling our limits we started loading everything up to head back to the truck. Someone in plain day light stole our stringer with our trout on it. I know what your thinking, 1. the fish on the stringer were dead, they did not swim off. 2. the stringer of fish was in the creek about 5 feet from us to our backs while we were fishing a pool, whoever stole them KNEW they were ours. Couldn't believe it.. Biggest trout I ever caught was on that thing, it was by no means a monster but we were looking forward to fish and eggs the next morning for breakfast... So if your out fishing, don't think you are away from all the BS, because it is out there too. Sad thing is, we would have given all of those fish to whoever stole them if they just would have asked. Anyways, after leaving that creek angry and literally sick to my stomach we went to the valley, did our thing and on our way home stopped at Tonto to fish again. Filled our limit, kept a close eye on the fish, and headed home. People like that don't belong in the woods. Plain and simple, it is VERY doubtful, but if your reading this and you happen to be the one that took our fish, I hope you enjoy them and you should be very thankful you didn't get caught walking back to the truck with our fish. Fishing is great at both places folks, water is clear as can be and the fish were biting like crazy.

Weekend Fishing Report... You won't believe it..
Anderson_HOTD69 replied to Anderson_HOTD69's topic in Fishing
Either way, Tonto Creek and Canyon Creek have different SITE SPECIFIC limits. If there was any question that I "broke the law" I wouldn't have posted it on a forum where I know for a fact Game Wardens are on here lol. Watched it happen too many times to people I know get in trouble like that -
I am looking for the Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensors from the 2005+ from the 16" Tacoma TRD Wheels. I upgraded from the SR5 Wheels to the TRD wheels and the sensors don't fit. If by chance you took yours out, upgraded wheels, or are planning to, let me know. I live in Show Low but we will be going down to the valley soon or I could pay for them and have them sent to me in the mail. Thanks.

Weekend Fishing Report... You won't believe it..

No, they were all rainbows. 1 was a stock fish from last year that didn't get taken out of there, the rest were dumb little stocker rainbows. I think the only brown I've caught was in Oak Creek, but I could be wrong on that lol. I just get excited when I catch one lol -

Actually, we didn't. Canyon Creek is 4 Trout PER license.. 2 licenses means 4 trout each totaling 8. Trust me, we check every creek before we go even if we have been there before, each different creek, stream, lake, whatever will have a different limit and different baits, we did NOT fish Canyon Creek after losing the trout, went home empty handed. So nothing to really point as, as no laws or regulations were broken. And there was over 24 hours difference and different creeks with different limits. -

We saw people walk by, I guess I forgot to say that, and some people came to fish next to us and asked to see our fish before we left, that's when we were gathering up stuff and noticed they were gone, they said they seen someone walking down when they were walking up with a stringer that looked like ours. There's no doubt it was a person. I just don't see a point in stealing anything, but whoever stole them better have eaten them (doubtful). Makes me hope they don't ever have kids to teach that crap like that is ok to do, people go to the woods to get away from that stuff. -
There has been two reports of bears out and about here in the white mountains, doesn't surprise me with the nonwinter like winter we have had but it could snow at any minute here so who knows. Be curious to see how the spring bear hunts go and how many more reports we get about people seeing them in trashcans or behind houses.

How much are the tickets to go to that event? Thinking about going but heard tickets can get pretty pricey -
TOO CUTE!!! I am not a fan of goat meat, can't get past the smell but those babies are adorable. I'll raise them for someone until they aren't cute anymore LOL

*Anybody in party rental business?? possibly DJ also
Anderson_HOTD69 replied to hoghntr's topic in Classified Ads
My boss is a DJ, I can ask him how much he would charge for one that isn't here in the White Mountains, he does great work and is a super nice guy. I can ask him if you already haven't found anything -
I have a Garmin Astro 320. I have hounds so it works 4 types of GPS collars for the dogs, but also is amazing for when the hounds are at home. I can mark everything with already pre loaded icons and names, and also custom ones for naming un-named roads, marking trees, scratches, kills, water holes, anything you can think of. I have a custom hot pink case on it and 5 or 6 different antennas for it. Honestly, I love the unit more when I don't have the hounds then when I do.

Actually, I think my Javelina tasted better then pork, but after hunting all day, and getting sunburned, and drinking enough Diet Mountain Dew to make Lee sick, bear would probably taste good lol. Speaking of bear, I plan on shooting a bear with this gun this year, maybe two if I get the chance to hunt New Mexico more then I did last year. Cody likes the big guns, and as of right now, this is our only gun that is set up, we were wanting to take the 6.5 Sin, but it isn't done yet. But nothing goes to waste with us. If we can't eat it, and it is safe for the hounds to eat, they benefit from it. The main thing they don't get is chicken bones. They say their is nothing happier then a dog with a bone, you should see my dogs when I am telling them I am going to a town with a golden corral in it... STEAKS FOR EVERYONE! lol

I killed my first biggame animal on Saturday the 22nd in Unit 27. I have hunted the northern half of 27 for Bear a lot and always seen pigs up there, but we went down to the southern part of the unit to hunt. Set up camp and started glassing close to camp, no pigs but my boyfriend Cody (huntermncb on here) glassed up a Coyote, started calling him but he could see the truck at camp shining so he didn't come all the way down, he moved down like 100 yards and then disappeared. We met John and his boys and visited with them and they invited us to go with them in the morning. The next morning we slept in and went on a little ridge to glass, we glassed up John and the boys as they were about to shoot a pig. We watched the rest of the herd leave and noticed one was not runnin too good. They shot and when they were done we made our way over to them, they had a pig over there and we started to make our way to the drainage where we saw the rest of the herd run off to. About 2 yards from Cody a pig was bedded down and jumped up and ran off. She ran about 60 yards and then bedded down again. He was carrying the 338 Lapua and before we left we agreed that if we jump up pigs he would shoot since I can't off hand that rifle (it weighs about 20 pounds and is pretty long). Well when she bedded down again he threw his Outdoorsman's Pack down and set the rifle on it and I shot her. Clean shot shoulder to shoulder. She was shot in the butt a few days before our hunt started and was not in the best of shape, that's why she was so far behind the herd and why she was bedded down and only moved about 60 yards and then bedded again. I'm really glad that I got this pig she was suffering pretty good and I hate to see animals suffering. Her skin and hair on her ears fell right off when you touched them so she was gettin pretty sick. Anyway, here are some pictures of my first filled tag. I've had 2 Coues Deer Tags, countless Bear and Lion tags, and a junior turkey tag that I haven't filled, so this one felt really good to put this tag on this pretty girl.

I forgot to post pix of the Lapua or Lahooha as we call him. Here are the more professional ones that were taken by Kyle Craig at Craig's Custom Rifles. He is on facebook and does some awesome looking guns.

Thanks Randy, it was a lot of fun. My boss was real happy when I called him and told him I got a pig. He loves to go hunting too so he was really excited when I drew this tag and actually got something, he's seen me get 2 coues deer tags, 2 lion tags, and 5 or so bear tags and he was happy to finally get a pic of his assistant with an animal lol
