Well I use an iPad for hunting and let me tell you Im so glad i don't have to lug around a laptop. For a topo map on your iPad i use OnXmaps it's great it gives you lots of options topo, aerial imagery, street maps, basically anything you will need and you can use it offline also! It's not free but it's not crazy expensive for a year subscription and if you are a RMEF member it's a year free. I also use my iPad to read SD cards for my trail cameras it's much lighter and smaller to pack, you can buy an apple Sd card reader for around $30! Some other added things I use but aren't necessary are iBooks an app where i have all the regs pre loaded on the ipad so I can access quickly without any internet you just have to preload them once! If you aren't sold yet you can charge your iPad through a car charger instead of having to go through the trouble of the converter.

Yes, but it was a few years ago. Don't know how to go back and find it easily. It seems that during the Oct coues deer hunt lots of people will hear the bulls bugling still but something happens between then and the archery hunt. They go silent for the most part. My bull bugled and it gave himself away. Took me a couple days to get him figured out but it worked out in the end. Nice il have to look for it, Im curious about the arrow in the back of the head!

I have the exact same scope but on a 7mm I just started getting sighted in for the first time Monday. This was my procedure: bore sighted, shot at 24.5 yards, set zero at 100 yards, used ballistics calculator to approximate 200, shot 200, made final adjustments for 200 (which was very close to what the calculator gave me) and do that for 300-100000000000000. This is my first time ever shooting a scope with turrets so not sure if that's the best way to go about it but I was finishing the day off with 1 1/2"groups at 400 which I still need to work on! Does anybody use the onXmaps app on your phone or tablet? If so what is the yellow shaded area mean? Is it goverment land? There has been a fence with no trespassing signs in my unit forever and when I pull it up on the map only about half of the fenced area is private property the rest is yellow. Any idea what the yellow is?

We always skin our deer out and then hang them until we go home. I loved driving around looking for deer hanging in the tree but that has now changed
