THERE IS A NICE TRAIL TO RIDE OVER ON THE EAST SIDE NEAR SUPERIOR. I HAVE HEARD IT REFFERED TO AS THE COKE OVEN TRAIL. IT RUNS DOWN INTO SOME NICE CANYONS ALL THE WAY AROUND TOWARDS FLORENCE, NEAR WERE THEY HAVE COUNTRY THUNDER. IT HAS SOME OLD MINES VERY SENIC. IF YOU CANT MAKE IT THIS TIME YOU DEFINITLY NEED TO KEEP IT IN MIND FOR A LATTER DATE.

This is GOOD! I hope they win the suit. -
I like the NATURAL gear camo. I wouldn't get too caught up in what brand or type of camo. As long as you like it that is all that matters. On the other hand if you go and buy a highly detailed tight patterned type camo you will tend to look like a large dark blob from a distance. Look for an open pattern that will help break up your outline in your surroundings. Personally I feel the hi-tech camo patterns are more for the hunters comfort than anything. If you like the way your clothes look you tend to feel better wearing them.

GREAT IDEA! We could have a contest were CWT.commers submit the pics and we vote on 12 of the favorites. There could be a live animal/scenery edition as well as a harvested deer/hunter edition. What do you all think??

I waited about that amount of time before groups, but I didn't clean that often, I cleaned after the first 20 or so rounds. I might try the hornadys again because I don't think I had any flyers when shooting them as compared to these other 3 rounds. I'm gunna head to the range in a bit to try again. The way I would advise you do it is as follows: 1. Shoot one 3 shot group waiting 1-2 minutes between shots. This will allow your barrel to 'warm up'. I always rest my rifle with the bolt open and muzzle pointed up. This allows a 'chimeny' affect for even barrel warming, cooling while waiting. Also I was told to wait 1-2 minutes between the shots so the barrel vibrations will cease. The barrel should be 'warm' while grouping, not cold. 2. 3-5 minutes later start your first 5 shot group. Waiting 2 minutes between shots. 3. Then I run the brush down the barrel, followed by a patch. Repeat as necessary. This is what I do and have good results. HORNADY V-MAX AMMO is what works best for me. Good Luck! I almost forgot to mention......sometimes in the afternoon the heat will cause the bullet to shoot high. One reason is the target will actually appear higher than it is, as well it will have an affect on your bullet trajectory. If at all possible do it early in the morning, the up-drafts are less.

boycott the harvest survey post card!!!!
crazy4COUES replied to bowsniper's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Let me just clarify one thing, I am a bowhunter, always have been, always will. I agree the bowhunters are not the problem. There are too many legitimate questions and not enough reliable information to create legitimate answers. They put a "MANDATORY" harvest reporting on bow kills. How are they forcing one to report???? You still have to VOLUNTARILY pick up the phone and make you lil fingers dial the darn number....If you don't do that how do they make you??? It still requires EFFORT in order for the system to work. That is WHAT I GET! Ever heard the saying, "THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT"? Don't sit back and think a mandatory reporting is going to solve the problem, cause it won't! Do your part and report your information wether it is MANDATORY or not! -

crazy4COUES replied to bowsniper's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
So you refuse to fill out a VOLUNTARY survey card....they make it mandatory and then you will do what???? Just cause THEY said so or cause YOU care about what is going on?????? -
boycott the harvest survey post card!!!!

crazy4COUES replied to bowsniper's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Correct, G&F refuses to do anything that will provide accurate data. This leads to the commision MANIPULATING what info is provided to suit there financial needs. Incorrect, boycotting survey cards will just allow more MANIPULATION by the commission. DO YOUR PART! Participate in ANY and EVERY aspect you can. It would be dead nuts 100% accurate IF EVERYONE filled out the cards....don't you get it??? They know some folks like you will jack the system around just enough to help them FUDGE the numbers. -
I enjoyed reading the posts. Just good folks sharing good times, THANKS!

It has to be the archery hunters! dang those guys are killing all the deer. JK, I have to agree, the areas that have deer seem to have a greater number than in the past.
-
Crazy$couse, does it really suck? If so what makes you say that? It does suck if you dont scout...scouting will make you succsessful...the game and fish provides good info....try those areas out and narrow it down...I suggest a good pair of optics That is what I was getting at.
