Well my buddy has a spot that he has gone to for years where he never encounters any other hunters...so he will probably stick to that. He cant drive right now...so I went out and am looking for some other areas for him just in case his plans fall through...my buddy's spot is in the nothern part of the unit...so I decided to check out the southern part...some areas are going to be very promising It just sucks how dry it is out there

Just thought i would share...I was up in 5bs scouting for a buddy's elk hunt....ended up bagging a couple things Here is the coyote I called in....shot him at 127 yards with my .270 And here is the little rabbit I took with my bow he was at 11 yards Saw some decent bulls...one of them will go over 300' he had some nice fronts and long g 3's....wish I had a pic of him but I only had my camera phone...he was a little too far away for it

i got in an accident this evening....some stupid dang person pulls out into the intersection as i am going through the yellow. Turns out the person is most likely an illegal immigrant.....no insurance, no drivers license.....hmmmm...with a name of julio velanzuela alvarez...doesnt speak english....what do you think.....no one could prove whose fault it was....i had no witnesses except a bunch of illegals...standing on the corner....this is on az ave and ray....the cop was an a$$hole...he said it was pointless for him to be out there at this scene cuz no one was hurt....he assumes I ran a red light....he believed the guy with no insurance and no identification....no one got a ticket for the cause of the accident...julio has his car towed away...julio said i ran the red light when he was making a left turn....which is completely false being that he wasnt in the turn lane...as a matter of fact the lane farthest from the turning lane...i have pics of where i hit him which was way on the other end of the intersection. my skidmarks prove it...i skidded all the way across the intersection....the cop never checked my story and he believed julio... nothing on my truck was hurt except the passenger side below the headlight all that is really messed up...probably a couple grand worth in damage...most likely im stuck paying it.....the guy im almost positive gave false information cuz he said he was 21 when he looked at least 40.....i am so frustated.....if he is illegal there is nothing i can do about it...im left out in the cold...which i think is pretty much the case...the system is messed up... that guy should be in jail for driving with no insurance...or he needs to be deported...something needs to be done about sh!T like this

SW is cheaper in a lot of things compared to bass pro...I could point out lots of things....I dont know about cabelas I have only been there once

I work there and am proud of it ...come in and ill show you the best optics there are i.e bushnell, tascos, simmons, alpen. Ill tell you why they are so good. Seems to me that bass pro and cabelas did not have anyone knowledgable either....even on gps's no one could answer my question correctly...well that sucks Lark that you had that experience. Alls I can say is it wasnt me ...I'd be very surprised if it was the mesa store....because christian and I work there

I agree I was wondering y they would do that. I did not like how the harvest objective for 23s was only two bears...thats where i plan on being Im hoping for a good bloom of prickly pear fruits....it aint looking good so far.......no rain

I agree....I would not go over 10 power if i was free handing it. I like 8 power better then 10 becuase, 8's are generally more brighter, plus the have a wider field of view...which is all due to the size of the exit pupil. The bigger it is the brighter the bino will be, better field of view, and better eye relief....for example I like the 8.5x42 el's alot better then the 10x42 el's Another thing is alot of people think the more power in the binocular the better....I completely disagree...the thing to look for in binos is image resolution...so that means clarity and brightness...thats what i look for in a bino or anything in optics

everyone is right on the money....take everyones advice. Get 15x56 swarovskis if you have the money if not buy the 12x56 monarchs. Generally you dont want the 15's for freehand glassing you will not even be close to as effective as having them on a tripod. Big browns, im not meaning this in a bad way in any sense but the bruntons are overpriced and not near as good as the nikons. Just from playing around at work and helping customers choose binos, the nikons were clearly better then the eternas. Today we had them nikons and bruntons outside on tripods and there was a distinct difference between the two...im not hounding you in any way...just personal opinion ... devinv if you live close to the mesa sw come down and take a look at the optics p.s i tallked to the burris representative today, he told me they have come out with a binocular that he said will match up to any swarovski,leica, zeiss....all the high end stuff. They did steal the design of the swarovski el's though...so we will be carrying those in august....im anxious to see how they will measure up...i dont think they will

I just got back from there tonight...I have to say I was not impressed at all....christian and i went through the whole store and everything they had was more expensive then at sw....some things by a lot. SW has all the same stuff just not as spread out and decorated like bp. I have no need to ever go back. it looked like there was only one coues mount in the whole store....plenty of mulies and beautiful elk though

Man I love the summer....go out and try to shoot some rabbits with your bow...or go out and shoot some coyotes....its such a blast...get out and look at all the growth of the elk, deer, antelope...I love this time of year. I love the anticipation of the draw....ya its the slow season but there is still so much to do...Get out and enjoy the great outdoors
